The winners of AIMAManaging India Awards 2017received their awards from
chief guest of the day SureshPrabhu, Minister for Railways,
Government of India, and BabulSupriyo, Minister of State for HeavyIndustries and Public Enterprises,Government of India. BabulSupriyo, while addressing thegathering, congratulated all thewinners and mentioned that theywere the shining lights who were
taking India forward on the path todevelopment.
Sunil Kant Munjal, President,AIMA and Chairman, HeroCorporate Service, introducedFaqir Chand Kohli, Former DeputyChairman, Tata ConsultancyServices, who received the
Lifetime Contribution Award thisyear. To lead during the constantlymoving times, one must haveclear thinking, positivity andmovement, he said.
Earlier, Sanjiv Goenka,Chairman, Managing India AwardsJury, and Chairman, RP-Sanjiv
Goenka Group,introduced the awardsand Rekha Sethi, DirectorGeneral, All IndiaManagementAssociation, gave herintroductory remarks.
The award forOutstanding Initiative ofthe Year was received bySharad Sharma, Co-founder and GoverningCouncil Member, iSPIRT,
for India Stack, and wasintroduced by Jatin Das,Renowned Indian Painter &Sculptor and Chairman, JD Centreof Art.
Rohit Bal, Fashion Designer,read the citation for Indian MNC ofthe Year award, received by Pawan
Munjal, Chairman, ManagingDirector & CEO, Hero MotoCorpLtd. He said that dynamism beingthe essence of life, society today isevolving faster than anyone couldhave imagined 10 years ago.
This year Entrepreneur of theYear Award was received by DilipShanghvi, Managing Director, SunPharmaceutical Industries Ltd.Shekhar Gupta, Chairman & Editorin Chief, Printline Media Pvt. Ltd.,read his citation. Talking about SunPharma evolving as a brand in thefuture, he said that for over threedecades, the focus has been onnew engines of growth andcreating a strong pipeline ofspecialty and differentiatedproducts in dermatology,ophthalmology and oncologysegments.
Anand Burman, Chairman,Dabur India Ltd., received theOutstanding Institution BuilderAward and his citation was read byPiyush Pandey, ExecutiveChairman & Creative Director,South Asia, Ogilvy & Mather.Talking about his success mantra,he said that innovation and afinger on the consumers' pulse tounderstand their ever-changingneeds and aspirations are key tosuccess.

T.V. Mohandas Pai, Sr. VicePresident, AIMA andChairperson, Manipal GlobalEducation Services, read thecitation for Emerging BusinessLeader awarded to Anil RaiGupta, Chairman & ManagingDirector, Havells India Limited.
Pranjal Sharma, EconomicAnalyst and Writer, read thecitation for the CorporateCitizen Award which was jointlyshared by Amit Chandra,Managing Director, Bain Capital,and Archana Chandra, CEO, Jai
Vakeel Foundation & ResearchCentre. Amit welcomed the CSRprovision of 2% as it had forcedmany corporates in India to getcloser to social issues.
