III. FREQUENCY OF THE GOVERNING BODY MEETING AND COLLEGE DEVELOPMENT

The functioning/responsibilities/duties/accountability of all Bodies/Committees are within the scope of the Acts/laws

governing the Sinhgad Technical Education Society and College i. e. the Society's Registration Act, 1961, The Bombay

Public Charitable Trust Act, 1950, The AICTE Act, 1988, The Pharmacy Act 1945, Maharashtra Universities Act 1994,

The Pune University Act, 1994 and amendments made there under from time to time and directives of the State & Central

Governments.

clearly vouch for the teachers’ involvement & significance in managing academic institution. Besides this, institute

has established Students Counseling Cell headed by Principal and teaching staff as members to provide counseling

on Career Planning, Academic Improvements and Personal Affairs. It has been established that it helps in building

confidence in students that facilitates the learning process and develop excellent rapport between staff & students.

The Student Council is also established as per the provisions of the Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016,

which helps in initiating various programmes of interest on academics, sports and profession of Pharmacy.

VI. MECHANISM / NORMS & PROCEDURE OF DEMOCRATIC / GOOD GOVERNANCE

The Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016 enacted by the State Government has made enough provisions for

the selection, appointment, terms & conditions of service, types & number of leaves, age of superannuation,

seniority criterion, job responsibilities / description, promotion policies, etc. and same are scrupulously followed.

The AICTE Sixth Pay Scale, and State Government allowances are being paid along with benefits of EPFO Scheme

to eligible employees plus gratuity benefits, leave encashment are given to all employees thereby it helps in

providing good system of democratic & good governance. The reservation policy of Government of Maharashtra is

strictly implemented through University while appointing teaching staff of the College.

The Sinhgad Technical Education Society follows its own policy of promotion to the deserving staffs that have

made significant contribution to the cause of education as a reward to retain & attract the highly talented human

resource.

The institute follows all systems of good governance as laid by the State, Central Govt. and various statutory bodies

governing the institute.

VII. STUDENT FEEDBACK ON INSTITUTIONAL GOVERNANCE / FACULTY PERFORMANCE

Students feedback on staff performance; a confidential activity carried by the Principal provides very important data

on strengths & limitations of every faculty. It ultimately helps in promoting right person in higher cadre, giving

opportunity for staff for further improvement in teaching and if required supports a decision of removal of any non-

performing staff. This feedback proforma covers all parameters of teaching- learning process and aimed at

quantitative evaluation of teaching abilities and depth of involvement of staff in student’s performance. It is one of

the most reliable data generated every year about strengths, weakness of teaching staff. The same criterion is applied

for assessment of institutional governance.

VIII. GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL MECHANISM FOR FACULTY, STAFF AND STUDENTS.

The University Tribunal established as per the provisions of Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994 by the University

of Pune, provides Grievance Redressal System for faculty & non-teaching. It is headed by the Justice of high court

& is functioning from the premises of Pune University.

All matters of grievances, governing the services of teaching & non-teaching staff are heard and settled as per the

legal procedures.

As an internal system of grievance redressal, the Sinhgad Technical Education Society has adopted open to all

policy' to encourage and listen voices of all staff of the institute to keep openness & transparency in working.

However, every person is given opportunity of equal & natural justice before taking decision on all matters

concerning the service conditions.

II. General rules

Students have to follow the apron code during practical hours.

For the practical, students must have with them the requirement specified as follows- white apron, white cap, rubber gloves, zero number spectacles.

Discarding papers & similar materials in the campus or corridor is strictly prohibited. The rules for disposal of waste papers & chemicals are laid down which must be strictly followed.

Though there is no dress code for the students, decent attire is expected.

Students shall be given home assignment by respective teachers which will be considered as an integral part of Sessional practical examination.

Attendance for guest lecture is compulsory

I. ADMISSION PROCEDURE

1. Admission Procedure for B. Pharm. Course

100 seats + 15 PIO/Foreign Nationals seats

Admission for 80 seats through CAP rounds:

Admissions for the CAP seats are made through Central Admission Process (CAP) conducted by State Common Entrance

Test Cell, Government of Maharashtra, with Director of Technical Education (DTE) as its nodal officer. The aspiring

candidates should apply through official website of DTE, www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in and register themselves for online

admission process.

For eligibility and admission process candidate should follow the following link https://dtemaharashtra.gov.in.

Admissions for 20 seats at Institutional level:

Admissions to institute level seats are made at institute level.


The aspiring candidates should apply through official website of DTE, www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in and register

themselves for online admission process and get their documents verified and confirm their application forms at

facilitation centers.

The list of facilitation centers is available on official website of DTE.

Such candidates should apply in prescribed application form, which is available in admin office and alternatively can also

be downloaded from college website and submit the same along with requisite documents in office of the college as per

schedule displayed at institute’s website and notice board.

Rules for Admission for Institute level Seats

All eligible Candidates who are assigned merit number by DTE can only apply for admission for Institutional seats.

Admissions shall be offered to the eligible candidates on the basis of their inter-se-merit derived from merit list declared

by the Institute for Institute level seats.

2. The candidate should fulfill the following Minimum Eligibility Criteria

For Maharashtra State Candidature Candidates and All India Candidature Candidates.

a. The candidate should be an Indian National

b. Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with Mathematics

or Biotechnology or Biology as one of the subjects and obtained at least 50% marks (at least 45 % marks in case of

candidates of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above

subjects taken together.

c. Obtained Score in MHT-CET-2017.

The merit list for the Candidates shall be prepared on the basis of marks secured by the Candidate in the MHT-CET-2017

conducted by the Competent Authority. Provided that, in case of tie, the relative merit of different Candidatures shall be

resolved in the following order of preference and the methodology as specified below:

i. Higher marks in Mathematics or Biology at MHT-CET-2017.

ii. Higher marks in Physics at MHT-CET-2017. iii. Higher percentage of marks in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry added together at board or qualifying

examination.

iv. Higher percentage of marks in the subject Mathematics or Biology at HSC.

v. Higher percentage of marks in the subject Physics at HSC. vi. Higher percentage of marks in aggregate in HSC.

First twenty candidates in the merit list shall have to confirm the admission by submitting original documents and

payment of full fees as per above schedule.

Any vacancy arising out of the candidates admitted in the Institutional level seats shall be filled from the candidates in the

next order of merit till the cutoff date of admissions i.e. 31/8/2017.

Institute level admission round for seats remaining vacant after all CAP rounds.

If the seat(s) remain vacant after all CAP rounds, such seats shall be filled by the institute through Institute Level Round

with prior approval of the Competent Authority.

Eligible candidates are advised to approach the institute and submit their application forms along with requisite

documents. The admission against such seats shall be made on inter-se merit of the candidates who have applied for

admissions for such vacant seats.

Such candidates need to confirm their admission by submitting original documents and payment of full fees as per

schedule.


Admissions for Foreign Nationals (FN)/Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) candidates.

Fifteen (15) seats are available for admission to PIO/FN candidates at institute level.

The aspiring candidates should apply through official website of DTE, www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in and register

themselves for online admission process and get their documents verified and confirm their application forms from “The

Principal, Bombay College of Pharmacy, Kalina, Santacruz (E), Mumbai-400098”.

After the candidates confirm their application form and verify documents, they should approach the Principal and

submit their application form along with requisite documents. The admissions shall be offered to all such candidates on

inter-se-merit of the candidates applied to the college. The fee structure for FN/PIO candidates is available on College

website.

Admissions to Direct Second Year B. Pharm (Lateral entry):

Number of vacant seats for direct admission to second year B. Pharm. shall be available on the official website of

Directorate of Technical Education (DTE). The aspiring candidates should register themselves for online admission

obtained score in GPAT conducted by AICTE.
