Dear Parents and Carers
This week we heard that government have abandoned plans to have all children
return to school this term. We know it’s challenging for parents whose children have
not been in school since March. Here at Maney Hill we would love to have all of the
children return - school isn’t the same without you and we miss you. Children are
currently taught in bubbles of a maximum of 15. All of the teachers and teaching
assistants who are able to attend school currently are in class teaching.
We await guidance from the government about how they plan for children to return
to school. I want to assure parents that at Maney Hill the Senior Leaders and
Governors are determined to do everything within our power to ensure that all
children return by September at the latest. Meanwhile, thank you to our amazing staff
who are currently teaching just over 50% of the Maney Hill children, considerably
higher than the national average of 11%. Mrs Whitehead
Reception build a Bug Hotel!
Well done to the Reception
children who together built a
Bug Hotel.
It has been built in a grassy
part of the playground. We hope
some bugs have now moved in!

Healthy Snacks
At the moment we are not receiving
deliveries of free daily fruit and
vegetable snacks for Reception and
Key Stage 1.
If you would like your child (in any year groups) to have a healthy snack
at morning break then please send it with your child.
Healthy snacks include fruit, vegetables, rice cakes or oat biscuits.
Hi Year 3,
I hope you are all well, and have enjoyed working
through the week’s activities. By now you might have a
complete version of your sci-fi story and some excellent
cave art drawings. Feel free to send them in via e-mail
and I will enjoy having a look at them.
I know Mrs Fullard has been catching up with 3M this
week and that she has been enjoying hearing what you
have been doing. This week it has been lovely to be
entertained by some jokes – thank you Diren and
Owain, they certainly did make me laugh! Also, well
done to Matthew in 3M on completing his cave art
drawing and sending it in, it fitted in nicely with those
done in school by the children of the key workers.
This week’s challenge – Can you send in an
illustration to go with your sci-fi story? I look
forward to seeing some brilliant alien creations!
Have a good weekend; myself or Mrs Fullard will speak
to you again soon.
Take Care, Mr Wigley,
Mrs Cooper and
Mrs Simkiss.
Hello Year 5!
Week 2 of home learning complete. Well done year 5.
This week I have so many amazing pictures to show
you of work that has been completed by your peers.
Featured are; Honor, Joe’s and Kalisse’s Moon phases;
Olivia’s lego castle; Kenji’s illuminated letters; and
Maya’s wonderful baking. Thank you for sending in
your work, it’s lovely to see.
Weekly challenge – Have a go at learning a new
sports skill – I am going to learn how to do a ‘keepy
uppy’.
Keep safe and stay smiling, Miss Luckett.
We hope you are well and continuing to
work hard at home. We are missing seeing
you all in school but it is so lovely to speak to
you on the phone and to receive emails to
hear about all the things you have been
doing to keep you busy. It’s great to hear
about the Village projects you have been
completing – thank you to those of you who
have sent them in. It has been lovely to learn
about different villages from all over the
world.
Weekly challenge – Can you find different
items in your house to match each letter of
the alphabet? Let us know what you find.
Take care and keep smiling!
Mrs Stonehill, Miss Sharma, Mrs Fullard and
Mrs Liddar.

The 6 Steps of Hand
Washing
In school we are getting
very good at washing
our hands.
Following ‘The 6 Steps of
Hand Washing’ is great
fun and will ensure our
hands are squeaky
clean to keep us safe.
Thank you to some of our
Reception children,
photographed here,
who are modelling this
superbly.
