HOW TO MAKE IT? HOW TO USE IT ?

Angle Puzzle is a manipulative media which isdesigned looks like a puzzle game so that studentscan learn while playing (solve the puzzle). Itcontains of two parts, first is puzzle board and thesecond one is pieces of puzzle.

This media will help students to identify thecharacteristics of angle such as alternate interior

angle, alternate exterior angle, correspondingangle, unilateral interior angle, and unilateralexterior angle

To make this media we need some material, thatare :

2 pieces of carton with size 20cmx30cm Cutter

Coloring paper

Ruler, and

Glue

The steps are:

Firstly, draws 2 parallel horizontal line on the first

carton (see illustration)

Note:

The line is made thickerso that it wouldnt be cutwhen it cut

Then, draw a transversal line that not perpendicular tothe others

Next, we make 2 parallelogram which are similar andcongruent like the picture (see illustration)

Cut all of the triangles using cutter

Layering the surface of all triangles

with colored paper, layering the cartonthat have been cut with another

colored paper, give more layer on

horizontal and transversal lines with

different color Glue carton that have been cut with the second

carton

Numbering the triangles suitable with the originplace

Finishing the angle puzzle suitable with the number oncarton and pieces of puzzle

Find pieces of puzzle that have characteristics alternate(interior and exterior) angle, corresponding angle,unilateral (interior and exterior) angle

Finishing the angle puzzle with different result with thefirst. When you finishing the puzzle you may placing

pieces of puzzle reverselyon carton or not suitable withnumbering. Repeat this step to get more result.

Conclude about the angle that has same measure andangle that have sum 1800.

This manipulative media consist of some circlesthat has different diameter. It made from a thinplywood and was layered by a thin mica.

Compass

Saw

Marker

Rope

Ruler

Scissors

Make some circles with different diameter on a plywoodusing compass

Cut the plywood following the pattern that have beendrawn

Measure the circumference using rope

Mesure the length of rope using a ruller

Do step 1 and 2 for other circle

Record the result at table below

Assume that 1 unit = 5 cm or we can change itbased on our agreement with students

Make an uncapped box with mica. The length, wideand height are in unit

Make a cubic with manila carton. The length of sideis 1 unit

Duplicate the cubic until fulfill the bottom layer ofthe box

Repeat the step (a) until to the top layer

Count the number of cubic that you have beenmade

Does it produce the same answer with the volumeof box using the formula ?
