    Battery Back-Up OperationThis clock radio is equipped with a memoryholding system that can be powered with2 AA batteries (included). The power fail-

    ure protection circuit will not operate un-less battery is installed.When normal household power is inter-rupted, or AC line cord is unplugged, thebatteries will power the clock radio tokeep track of time and alarm settings pro-grammed into memory. When the batterybackup functions, the digital display willnot light, however, the function of alarmstill occurs during the power interruptionif remaining battery power is adequate.Normal operation will resume after ACpower is restored so you will not have toreset the time or the alarm.

    Power Failure Indicator

    When AC power is interrupted (discon-

    nected) for a short period of time, bothtime and alarm settings will change (un-less optional battery is installed). After ACpower is restored (reconnected), the Digi-tal Display will blink to indicate that powerwas interrupted and you should readjustthe time and alarm settings.

    Operating the Clock

    This unit has a built-in automatictime set system, basically you do nothave to set the clock manually. How-ever, in case the memory holding bat-teries are accidentally removed, youmay reset the clock as follow:

    Setting date:1. Slide the Time/Dateselector switch to

    Operating the Radio

    Tuning the Stations1. Press ON/OFF(located on the top of the

    radio) to turn on the radio.2. Slide the FM/AMswitch to the desired

    broadcast band.3. Turn TUNINGto select a station.4. Press ON/OFFto turn off the radio

    Built-In AFCThe Built In Automatic Frequency Control(AFC) works only on FM. It helps reducingdrift on FM reception and keeping theradio locked in on the FM station to whichit is tuned.When tuning in FM stations, you may no-tice that the station you are tuning canbe well-tuned on two or three nearbypoints on the dial. Always tune carefullyat the loudest and clearest point.

    AntennasAM Antenna-A built-in ferrite rod antennaeliminates the need for an outside an-tenna for AM reception. Rotating the unitslightly may improve reception of distantAM stations.

    Setting the WAKE Time

    Your digital clock operates on a 12-hourstandard mechanism. A green indicatorwill be shown next to AM when the unitis reading AM time.

    1. Slide the SET switch to WAKE 1 orWAKE 2. (An indicator is activated.)

    2. Press REVorFWDto set the wake time.The time decrements or increments willfollow by a faster rate when you pressand hold either REVor FWD.

    3. After WAKE time is set, slide the SET

    switch to LOCK position.

    Tip: The unit equips with GRAD-U-WAKEGRAD-U-WAKEGRAD-U-WAKEGRAD-U-WAKEGRAD-U-WAKEfeature, the alarm tone volume will in-crease gradually to its maximum in about30 to 45 seconds.

    Tips: If you set SLEEP function with lowvolume level before going to bed, we ad-

    vise using ALARM mode to wake you up

    since its volume will automatically increase.

    Waking by Selected SourceProgramme

    You may be woken up by music or

    alarm .

    1. Select an AM or FM station.2. Set wake time (see above direction).3. Press the WAKE 2 or WAKE 1button

    to select waking up by music or alarm.A green indicator is up next to the se-lected setting.

    4. Adjust the volume by turning VOLUME.

    Note: When you turn off the alarm or

    the music by pressing ON/OFFON/OFFON/OFFON/OFFON/OFF, the

    alarm or the music will turn on at the

    same time tomorrow.

    Operating the ClockEN Sleep Mode

    In sleep mode, the radio will turn off au-

    tomatically. Simply:

    1. Press SLEEP then the time display willexhibit 0:59and the radio will turn on.

    2. While holding SLEEP, press REVorFWDto set the sleep time. The time range isfrom 1 minute to 2 hours.

    3. Release SLEEPand the current time willbe shown again. The radio is turnedon and you may select the station asusual. The radio will turn off when thepreset time elapses. If you decide toturn off the radio sooner, press SNOOZEorON/OFF.

    4. When SLEEP is activated again, thesleep time will be the same as the oneyou have set before.

    5. Press SLEEP to read the remaining sleep

    time.

    Nap Mode

    This function wakes you up after a shortperiod of time. Simply:

    1. Press NAPand release. The greenNAPindicator will flash. During this period,adjust NAP time by pressing REV orFWD. The range is from 10 minutes to2 hours.

    2. The clock will be shown after 5 secondsif no button is pressed. The NAP indica-tor will lit up.

    3. Press NAPonce to show time left.

    Stop the Nap alarm

    Press NAPor follow Turning off Alarm.

    1. Press and hold NAPto cancel the napsetting.

    2. Only alarm sound can be selected.3. Nap alarm is equipped with GRAD-U-

    WAKEfeature.

    Turning off Alarm

    Silence the alarm momentarilyPress SNOOZE. The alarm will sound againwhen the snooze period is over. (seeSnooze Alarm Operation).

    Stop the alarmPress ON/OFF. Then, the alarm will be onthe following day at the same time.

    Disable the alarm permanently1. Press CANCELbutton.2. The WAKEindicator will be flashing.3. Press WAKE 1 or WAKE 2button within3 seconds to deactivate the correspondingalarm function permanently.

    Operating the ClockENSnooze Alarm Operation

    This operation allows extra sleep time af-

    ter the alarm is on. The alarm will be offby pressing SNOOZE until the snooze pe-riod is over. Snooze function can be usedrepeatedly up to 2 hours. After this, thealarm will turn off until the next alarmconditions are met. Set the quiet pe-riod as follow:

    1. Press and hold SNOOZE.2. Press REV or FWD to set the quiet

    period (the default time is 9 minutes)from 1 minute to 30 minutes. Releasebutton, then, the quiet period is set.

    Weekend cancel

    If the weekend cancel function is acti-

    vated, the alarm will be active duringMON to FRI, and inactive during SAT andSUN. You can activate or deactivate thisfunction as follow:

    To activate Weekend cancel function

    Press the Weekend cancelbutton once(the red icon Weekend Cancel will ap-pear.)

    To deactivate Weekend cancel func-tion Press and hold the Weekend cancelbutton to cancel this function (the redicon Weekend Cancel will disappear.)

    Seconds Time Display

    The unit may display in seconds.

    1. Select LOCK in the SET switch.2. Press REV or FWD to show seconds

    display.3. Release REVor FWD to return to the

    hour and minute display.

    Auto Clock SetYou do not have to set the clock time as abuilt-in automatic time set system isequipped in this clock powered by 3V (2

    X AA batteries (included). All you have todo is to plug this clock forpower and cur-rent time will be shown automatically.However, the batteries can also be ex-hausted and we recommend that you re-place the batteries every 3-5 years.

    Before you Plug for Power1. Setting Time ZoneYou may slide the timezone selector at the bot-

    tom of the clock to East-ern, Central, Mountainor Pacific.

    2. Day Light SavingYou can slide the DAYLIGHT SAVING switch atthe side of the unit to turnon/ off in areas observing/not observing such timechange.

    WARNING: Please avoid playing withthese buttons after entering theClock/Alarm set mode.

    US Limited Warranty

    What your warranty covers:

    Defects in materials or workmanship.

    For how long after your purchase:

    One year from date of purchase.The warranty period for rental units begins with the first rental or 45 days from date of shipment to therental firm, whichever comes first.

    What we will do:

    Provide you with a new, or at our option, a refurbished unit. The exchange unit is under warranty forthe remainder of the original products warranty period. Proof of purchase in the form of a bill of sale or receipted invoice which is evidence that the productis within the warranty period must be presented to obtain warranty service. For rental firms, proof offirst rental is also required.

    How to make a warranty claim: Properly pack your unit. Include any cables, etc., which were originally provided with the product.We recommend using the original carton and packing materials. Include evidence of purchase date such as the bill of sale. Also print your name and address and adescription of the defect. Send via standard UPS or its equivalent to:
