Group 9 Wheels
Wheel speed sensor
The vehicle is equipped with six wheel speedsensors one for each wheel on the three rearaxles.
The wheel speed sensor records the speed ofthe relevant wheel and sends the signal to theABS control unit. The pulse wheel is designedso that a magnetic flux is created in the wheelspeed sensor when the wheel rotates. Themagnetic flux generates a frequency which thecontrol unit uses to calculate the rotationalspeed of the wheel.

ABS control valves
The vehicle is equipped with six ABS controlvalves one for each wheel on the three rearaxles. The control valves adjust the air pressureto brake cylinders during ABS control.
The control valves have three controlfunctions:
Pressure increase (normal mode): Inletopen and exhaust closed.
Pressure drop: Inlet closed and exhaust
open. Pressure retention: Inlet and exhaust
closed.
The control unit activates the function of thecontrol valves as necessary:
For ABS control, the control unit uses thecontrol valves to prevent the wheels fromlocking.
During TC modulation, the ABS control
unit uses the control valves to apply brakepressure to the driving wheel that isslipping.
During EBL modulation, the ABS controlunit uses the control valves to adapt the
pressure in the rear brake circuit to the loadof the vehicle.

Fault messages in the instrumentcluster
Serious faults are indicated via a short acousticsignal and a message in the display whendriving with blackout lighting.
To view messages in the display withoutdeactivating blackout lighting, a torch or thelike can be used to light up the display.
All warnings that are notified via an acousticsignal when driving with blackout lighting areserious and mean that you should stop thevehicle as soon as possible.
Warnings and messages will remain until youacknowledge them.
The following warnings are indicated via ashort acoustic signal when driving with
blackout lighting:
Engine malfunction
High engine coolant temperature
Low engine oil pressure
EBS fault on trailer
Low brake pressure on trailer
Coordinator malfunction
High oil temperature in torque converter
ECU communication fault
EBS fault on tractor
