EQUITY ASSISTANCE CENTERS (EACS)

...funded by the U.S. Department of Education to provide technical assistance and training, upon request, in the areas of race, sex, national origin and religion to public school districts and other responsible governmental agencies to promote equitable education opportunities.

...work in the areas of civil rights, equity, and school reform. This assistance helps schools and communities ensure that equitable education opportunities are available and accessible for all children.

To ensure students’ equitable educational access, participation, and

outcomes by expanding states’ and systems’ capacities to provide robust, effective opportunities to learn for all students, regardless of and responsive

to race, sex, national origin, religion, as well as income, and to eliminate

inequities among and between groups.
