Map It – Bike It – Walk It
FieldworkAim: Today we are going to be going
out and collecting information about the area around our school.

4. Get the students to individually record a paragraph/ Haiku on their OWN sheets about how the site makes them feel, e.g. Happy, scared, safe etc (For the Wordle): 5. Score your area’s characteristics: Characteristic - 3 - 2 - 1 0 +1 +2 +3 6. Take 3 Photos of the area 7. How could the area be improved? (Made safer/ more f riendly) 8. Draw a soundscape of your area: 9. Bikeability of the road (Use all the information collected and the information on the back of the sheet to decide the level): Level Reason

At each site you get to you need to write a paragraph or two describing what the site is like and hw it makes you feel. Use good descriptive words (Safe, dangerous, happy, noisy etc)

for being outside• Stay with your group at all times• Only cross the road when instructed
to do so
