Marathon Black Granite Property

Location and Access,

The property is located 3 km west of the town of Marathon along the Trans Canada Highway 17.

Property Description

The property is on relatively high ground and the geology is mostly brown to light black syenite. Some areas are well fractured and some areas are fairly massive. The areas that are relatively more massive are the areas of interest.

Property Visit

On July 7 and July 8/2004 Michael and Stephen Stares accompanied by geologist Clint Barr of Barr Geological visited the Marathon Black Granite Property to primarily evaluate the potential for a granite quarry. We also took a sample of a coarse grained synite with trace sulfide and 3% magnetite to assay for platinum group metals. To the north of the property there are significant amounts of Pge's. in similar rock types. The sample we took showed no pge's, but more sampling should be done. However the potential for a Black Granite Quarry is significantly higher. A couple of large pieces were taken from a large stripped area for cutting and polishing .The stone polishes very well and looks great. There are some pictures attached. The stone should be looked at by a granite expert to see if it has economic potential.

Conclusions and recommendations

Stripping and shallow drilling should be done on areas that look promising for block extraction If areas are outlined by the first phase of exploration that look promising, blocks should be extracted and sent by tractor trailer to a facility that cuts and polishes large blocks of stone. If at this point the stone looks marketable then a feasibility study should be completed.
