Pastor’s Corner
My Dear Parishioners, By now many of you have received the mailing regarding our parish-wide celebration of Stewardship Sunday on the weekend of April 6th-7th. I look forward to this weekend as an opportunity for you to consider an increase in giving to our parish. This special Sunday is part of an overall plan of renewal for our parish in the areas of Spirituality, Stewardship and Evangelization. Please take the time to consider everything that I have provided for you to read. If at any time you have any questions regarding this initiative or our parish finances in general, feel free to reach out to either myself or the Business Manager, Nicole Giacche for further help and/or clarification. More information regarding Stewardship Sunday will follow in the weeks ahead. I thank all of you in advance for your prayers, support and cooperation as we continue to celebrate “My OLA + My Family of Faith”. Just as a reminder, we still have lots of open Mass Intentions available for the rest of the month of March as well as April and May. Likewise, there are still intentions available for Vigil Lamps as well. Please feel free to contact the Parish Office for these intentions in the months ahead. Finally, our pilgrim Statue of the Scourged Christ has arrived and will remain in our sanctuary throughout this penitential season of Lent. An “intention box” is located to the right of the statue for any prayers that you may like to request. Your intentions will travel with this statue for one year after it leaves our parish. The intentions under the statue now are from previous parishes where the statue has traveled prior to coming to OLA. It is my hope that this unique and moving image of our Lord will draw many visitors here as well as help our own parish family enter more deeply into the spirit of Lent and grow more deeply in love with our Lord. Love and prayers, Fr. Carey
