Three Way Learning Conferences
We will be holding ‘Three Way Learning
Conferences’ on Monday 23rd March. Students
will not attend school on this day. They will come
for their conference time.
Appointments can be made through Xuno.
Online bookings are open. To book, find the
‘Parent Teacher Interview’ on your app or
website, and book your appointment times.
Please remember that students are to be in
attendance at their conference.
Parent role during the conferences:
*During learning conferences, parents have a
major role to play. Students will be sharing how
they are learning, along with what they are
learning.
*We are encouraging all parents to be actively
involved and seek to understand the how and
what, as Irymple South strives to have students
take more ownership of their learning through
our Visible Learning Cycle.
*We will allow time for parent voice, as teachers
will provide time for communication about any
concerns.
*We hope you enjoy the formal 15 minutes with
your child and their teacher. XUNO

Here are some tips that everyone can follow:
*Cover your mouth and nose when coughing
and sneezing with a tissue, or cough into your
elbow.
*Dispose of the tissue into a bin and then wash
your hands afterwards.
*Wash your hands regularly, after using the
toilet, and before eating.

All classes use Seesaw as part
of our continuous reporting.
We use the app Seesaw as it
provides continuous
feedback for students and parents.
It is expected that ALL parents involved in the
education of a student log on to their SeeSaw
account. Each child has a separate account
which needs to be logged onto EACH year. If
you haven’t already logged on to each of your
children’s accounts could you please do so.
Information has been sent home with each

Teachers are using SeeSaw as part of your

STUDENTS OF THE WEEK (these will be presented at assembly on Friday 13th March)

PE
with Mrs Branson
In Physical Education, students have begun training for the
ISPS Cross Country race being held at school on Tuesday 21st
April. Being ‘Heart Healthy is such an important skill for a long and
active life and the habits we set as children help to influence
our habits later on in life. The focus of this event is on
participation, improving individual health and increasing
cardiovascular fitness. As well as running the Cross Country
track we have also been discussing ways the students can be
more active both at home and at school.
This week the Prep classes
have been looking at how
to receive a ball through
the air and used these skills
in minor games and
activities.
The Year 1 and 2 classes
have begun their tennis
unit. The Year 1s have been
focusing on projecting
(throwing and hitting) and
receiving (catching and
trapping with and without
equipment) a ball through
the air. The year two
classes have been focusing
on racquet familiarization
and rallying with a racquet
to improve skills.
The Year 3 & 4 students
have looked at the
fundamental movement
skill of dodging and used
video evidence and
targeted practice to assess
and improve their own skill level (posted on SeeSaw). They
have also been introduced to the skills involved in the game
of hockey.
Year 5 & 6 students have been focusing on what is physical
fitness and how they can track and improve their own fitness.
They have begun to use the language around the
components of fitness, completed fitness testing for term one
and participated in different fitness circuit activities. The year
five students are now working in small groups on creating their
own circuit station for a given component of fitness.

Interschool Swimming On Tuesday 3rd March, Max Bell, Max Mannes, Eadie Neagle and
Ava Topp competed at the Mildura Interschool Swimming Sports
at Mildura Waves. We had some very good performances with all
students placing in the top 3 for at least one race. Following were
the place getting performances
Max Bell 1st in Breaststroke and 1st in Backstroke
Max Mannes 1st in Backstroke
Eadie Neagle 1st in Breaststroke 2nd in Butterfly
Ava Topp 3rd in Freestyle
Our relay team also did very well this
year winning the U12 Open 4 x 50m
Freestyle relay.
All students enjoyed the competition and did their very best.
Max, Max and Eadie are through to Swan Hill to for their individual
event and Ava will join them for the relay event. The students will
represent Sunraysia at the Regional Swimming Finals in Swan Hill
on Thursday 19th March.
Mrs Branson
Clean Up Australia Day On Tuesday the grade 5’s went to Psyche Pumps for Clean Up
Australia Day. Julie and Ray from Parks Victoria told us about
rubbish and why it is so important to clean up.
We found really interesting and disappointing
things such as beer bottles, glass, lighters,
barbed wire and fishing lines. We really enjoyed
it and it was such a great opportunity to
experience.

Girls Cricket
Yesterday a group of 5/6 girls went and played
hard ball cricket at Nichols point. We had two
games for the day. The first game we played
Nichols Point and easily won 44 to 60. The 2nd
game we also played against Nichols Point and
fortunately won 49 to 58. Our best players for the
day were Annabelle Kennedy with her 3 wickets,
Addison Bell for her amazing batting, Eadie
Neagle for her fielding and most improved was
Amelia Petrolo with her wicket keeping. All
players did extremely well and we all improved
as the day progressed. We will luckily be proceeding into the next round. On behalf of all the girls
cricket team we would like to give a big thank you to Mr Allen for being a great coach and
finally your tactics got us through to the next round.

donates will be part of the basket that will be won by someone in
their room.
Raffle books have already been sent home. Tickets are $1.00 each
or $10 per book. Extra books will be available at the front office.
We are asking all families to donate an item to make up our prizes. Donations could include
Easter eggs, rabbits, Bunny Ears etc, it doesn’t have to be an Easter egg but anything that you
think would be appropriate for an Easter Raffle prize.
Please place donations in the clearly marked tubs in the office foyer. Each class has a tub for
their donations and we need as many donations as possible for each tub. All donations no
matter how big or small will be gratefully received.
All proceeds from the raffle will be going towards our next major project, building a shade
structure over the basketball court.
The baskets will need to be wrapped ready for distribution on Thursday 26th March. Please put
this date in your calendar if you are able to help.

ANZAC CEREMONY
Our ANZAC Ceremony will be held on Friday of the second week of Term 2

Wall of names of our students’ family members who have served in the
war. If you added a name to the Memorial Wall last year, it will be included
again this year and you don’t need to let me know. If you didn’t, or are
new to the school and would like to add a name, please email
[email protected] with the name, the war they
served in and the student’s name by the end of Term 1.
Thanks,
Nadine McWilliams
