This lecture highlights the role and function of life experience in the life cycle. It also discusses the phenomenon of intuition, providing a value-added dimension of epistemological value independent of formal methodology. The real world is defined as the one we happen to live in, experienced by common sense and enhanced by life experience, as well as intuition. The three concepts combined provide a basis for making sense of this world. Please feel free to bring your lunch with you. Refreshments will be served. After a rigorous application process, AUC recently received approval to open a chapter of the society. It will be the first Psi Chi chapter in Egypt. Members will include psychology faculty, alumni, as well as graduate and undergraduate students, who have demonstrated academic excellence. The guest of honor at the ceremony will be Nasser Loza, esteemed psychiatrist and chief mental health secretariat. Loza has been at the forefront of the fight to change Egyptian laws to provide better protection for the rights of the mentally ill. He will lead the ceremony and induct the charter members of the society’s new chapter. The ceremony is open to the public.
