Magical Properties:Potion: Burning Basilisk Skin Safety: Use caution! Basilisks are one of the most dangerous creatures in the magical world. Their venom is very potent, one of only three things capable of destroying an evil horcrux. Since it is quite unstable, the skins are transformed into a powdered form.

Ingredients:4 parts Basilisk Powder

1 part Horn of Bicorn10 mL dragon droolfirestarter

Potion: Magic Mud Ingredients: (1 part= 1 spoonful)3 parts Asphodel Powder1 part cold Purified Water- add firstbeaker

Directions: Stir ingredients in beaker clockwise 3 times and 6 times counterclockwise so they form a liquid. Then scoop up a handful, close your hand, blow on it and squeeze it. Open your hand and watch it melt away again. If the potion thickens up add a few drop of water and blow on it twice. After done with magic mud rinse the beaker and your hands in the sink.

Potion: Fleeing SpidersAny good Hogwarts students knows that the only thing spiders are scared of is the basilik. See in this potion how spider eggs are able to flee.

Ingredients:1 scoop Spider Eggs150 mL Purified WaterBasilisk Venom

Directions:1. Pour 150 mL purified water into a medium beaker2. Place 1 Scoop of spider eggs into the water. 3. Dip your finger into the eggs. Be careful to not swirl the eggs and damage the baby spiders. What happens?

4. Dip your finger into Basilisk Venom, place your finger in with the spider eggs. Be careful to not swirl the eggs and damage the baby spiders. What happens?Why?

Directions:Scoop mandrake root into container (2 scoops). Add 20 ml purified water. Stir counterclockwise 10 times. Wave your hand over the potions twice. Add 5 drops of Dragon Spit. Stir clockwise 10 times. Wave your hand over the potion the opposite way twice. Add 20 ml of Volatile Solution and say “Bub-da-lir”.

Directions:1. Measure 10 ml of each type of liquid into the test tubes2. Use the spell “Hostilis Liquidus” over the ingredients3. Start your column by pouring the Armadillo Bile into the graduated cylinder. Now, you will pour each liquid SLOWLY into the container, one at a time. You must wave each hand separately over the column 5 times before pouring the next liquid. Right hand 5 times, then left hand five times. Chant “Hostilis Liquidus” It is very important to pour the liquids slowly and into the center of the graduated cylinder. Make sure that the liquids do not touch the sides of the cylinder when pouring. It’s okay if the liquids mix a little as you are pouring. Pour the liquids in the following order:

a. Armadillo Bileb. Acidc. Dragon Spitd. Swamp Watere. Gillyweed Solutionf. Phoenix Tears

1 Erumpent Horn broken into many piecesLight from wand (flashlight) Directions:*Pour 150 mL Gillyweed Solution into cauldron (250 mL beaker)*Add 100 mL arcomantula venom and 4 drops leprechan elixirs*Wave wand and say “Alieno!” 3 times*Break Erumpent Horn into 5-6 small pieces*Drop the horn pieces in one at a time, slowly*Turn Lights off (this will be done as a group), Shine your light source on potion. Observations:

Potion Use: Potion that acts as a Bone Regenerator (re-grows bones). It takes approximately 8 to 12 hours for bone re-growth to occur and the process can be quite painful.

Potion: Deflating Draft IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION: This experiment should only be done with the help of an adult. Iodine will stain just about anything it touches and it can be hazardous. Hydrogen peroxide can cause eye and skin irritation - safety goggles are needed throughout the experiment. Be sure your helpful adult reads the caution labels on each container.

Ingredients:3 clear plastic caldron cups 4 ounces, 1 piece of belladonna, Lethe River Water, Sal Ammoniac, Octopus Ink Directions: 1. Put on those safety goggles and mash the belladonna using a crucimle and mortar. Get it into as much of a fine powder as possible.

2. Then put all the powder in the first cup and add 2 ounces (60 ml) of warm purified water. Stir for at least 30 seconds. (The water may be a little cloudy) Let’s call this “POTION A”3. Now put 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of your POTION A into a new cup and add to it: 2 oz (60 ml) of warm purified water and 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of the octopus ink. Notice the brown iodine turned clear! Let’s call this “POTION B.” By the way, you’re done with POTION A - you can put it aside.4. In the last cup, mix 2 oz of warm purified water, 1 Tablespoon (15 ml) of the sal ammonioac and 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) of the lethe river water. This is, you guessed it, “POTION C”5. Okay, that was a lot of potion preparation, on to the fun part. Gather the friends and family and pour all of POTION B into POTION C. Then pour them back and fourth between the 2 cups a few times while chanting “Removus doxies” 5 times. 6. Place the cup down and observe .be patient....somewhere between a few seconds and a few minutes, the… potion will suddenly change and be ready to use to remove the doxies! Potion Observations:

Potion Use: Black liquid used to knock out Doxies so they can be safely removed from their dwelling.
