MARHABA is an Erasmus Mundus Project aiming at:

Developing further collaboration among the European Union and Iran, Iraq for sending and hosting mobility of talented students and staff.

Enhancing capacity, transparency and employability as well as skills and qualification of institutions and individuals.

The MARHABA project promotes 125 flows of students and staff (to and from EU) in a collaborative framework which includes a balanced representation of 9 Universities in Iran and Iraq (5 in Iran and 4 in Iraq) and another 9 Universities in eight European countries (Spain, Germany, France, Poland, Italy, United Kingdom, Bulgaria and Portugal).

What is MARHABA?

The project MARHABA, coordinated by the University of Santiago de

Compostela (USC) is one of the proposals approved by the Education,

Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency for (Iran and Iraq), in 2014.

Mobilities: 125

Mobilities addressed to beneficiaries and citizens promotes flows of students and

staff from the European Union towards Iran and Iraq and from Iran and Iraq

towards the EU. Academic levels: undergraduate, master, doctorate, post-doctorate and staff.

Beneficiaries:Candidates belonging to one of the following target groups can be selected for Marhaba project:

Target Group 1 (TG1): Students and Academic Staff registered in one of the partner universities belonging to the consortium. Undergraduate students must have successfully completed at least one year of studies in their home institution;

Target Group 2 (TG2): Nationals from the third countries of the consortium in a particularly vulnerable situation due to social and political reasons.

Amount of the grant:

MARHABA includes travel and insurance costs and a monthly allowance of:

1.000€ for Undergraduate

1.000€ for Master

1.500€ for Doctorate

1.800€ for Post-doctorate

2.500€ for Academic Staff

Duration of the mobilities:

Undergraduate: 6 and 10 months

Master: 6 and 18 months

Doctorate: 6 and 34 months

Post doctorate: 6 months

Academic Staff: 1 month
