Mahadevi (Maria) grew up in Beirut, Lebanon in a Yogic environment with her Yogini mother and teacher, Irene. Immersed in the practice from a very early age, she naturally decided to take yoga to the next level.

Mahadevi obtained her Yoga Teaching Certification (and her name) from the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Meenakshi Ashram in South India in 2014. Wanting to take the teachings even deeper, in 2015 she completed her Advanced Teacher Training at the Sivananda Yoga Ranch in upstate New York.

A film editor by profession, working on feature films and shorts, she divides her time between film editing, teaching yoga regularly and visiting the Ashram for her own personal growth. Mahadevi's deep love, commitment and faith in the practice is expressed in every yoga class she teaches. Her passion for the practice is an inspiration to her students of all ages.

She practices and teaches Classical Hatha Yoga, following the Sivananda tradition.
