Scrubber Prefabrication

Due to the new legislation of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) many ships need to be equipped with scrubber units to ensure cleaner air and less SO2.

Fiberdur ® designs and manufacture special pipe systems for these applications and has more than 25 years experience in flue gas cleaning. The light weight and long term resist-ance have made GRE and GRVE, the material of choice for scrubber equipment.

Fibermarine ® and Fibermarine HighLine ® pipe systems can be delivered as prefabricated spools. Prefabrication can be carried out in our factory or by qualified contractors worldwide.

The pipe sections are prepared according to isometrics. Special fittings can be designed and manufactured to meet the requirements of the shipbuilding industry.

SHIPBUILDING AND MAINTENANCEGlass f ibre reinforced pipe systems by Fiberdur®

Fiberdur ® represents over 50 years of successful experience in the design and manufacturing of GRE (glass fibre reinforced epoxy resin) or GRVE (glass fibre reinforced vinylester resin) pipe systems.

Fiberdur ® offers an extensive range of pipes and fittings precisely manufac-tured to the highest quality.

The Marine environment is, by its na-ture, highly corrosive. Any dry dock operation is a costly matter for both Ship owners and Operating companies. Glass fibre reinforced pipe systems pro-vide the state of the art solution against corrosion.

Fibermarine ® pipe systems combine the long established benefits of com-posite materials including, light weight, ease of installation and excellent ser-vice lifetime.

Fibermarine ® pipe systems design have proven to last the lifetime of the ship.

Our pipe design is in full compliance with the IMO resolution A753 (18) Level 3 and furthermore Fiberdur ® is approved by the major Classification Societies.

INNOVATION 2014

Fibermarine® pipe systems offer a wide range of joint-ing systems including Adhesive Bonding, Lamination, Flange type (Collar and Loose Flange and Heavy Duty Flange), Rubber Seal Lock Joint as well as Mechani-cal Couplings are available.

Fibermarine® pipe systems can also be offered as a complete range, fully prefabricated in house, along with detailed engineering , supervision, training, pro-ject specific documentation, installation, prefabrication and instruction manuals.

Fibermarine® pipe systems have developed a new pipe connection system called Fibertaulic®. This de-velopment is the result of cooperation between the two well established companies Fiberdur® and Victaulic®.

The benefits of the Fibertaulic® system are:

Simple mechanical installation.

Weight saving.

Faster installation time.

OUR PRODUCTSFor the Shipbuilding industry Fiberdur ® has two resin systems to offer:GRE (glass fibre reinforced epoxy pipe systems).GRVE (glass fibre reinforced vinylester pipe sys-tems).

For both resin systems Fiberdur ® offers two product series:Fibermarine®. Designed for full vacuum.Fibermarine HighLine®. Designed for full vacuum (collapse resistance) plus 30 metres water column (3:1 safety)

Fibermarine® pipe systems are type approved in the diameter range 25 mm (1”) up to 1000 mm (40”).Whenever larger diameters are required, special project approvals can be supplied and certificated according to class.

Fibermarine® pipe systems are available in rated pressure classes up to 16 bar. Beside the stand-ard Fibermarine® and Fibermarine HighLine® pipe systems other configurations of internal and external pressure can be designed on customer request.

Fibermarine® pipe systems are suitable for a wide range of applications as example:

Seawater Cooling Lines

Seawater Bilge and Ballast Water (incl. BWT systems)

Fire Fighting Lines

Condensate Lines

Sounding and Ventilation Lines
