Japan for the supply of the new 5

LNG vessels to MISC (Hull number

H2220 to 2224) which are to be

delivered from the shipyard from

HERNIS and MISC already have

experience from collaborating on

comprehensive orders. HERNIS

was appointed to provide CCTV

Systems for 5 LNG’s in Korea in

addition to another 5 vessels,

which have now been delivered to

The 5 new vessels will be using

the HERNIS 400 Compact System

with 14 cameras located through-

out the vessel. The vessel will also

be using LCD monitor instead of

the general CRT monitors.The

project was not easily secured due

to heavy competition from

domestic and over-seas suppliers,

however we are truly honoured

that MHI (Mitsubishi Heavy

Industries) selected HERNIS Scan

Systems for this project.

With a fleet of 20 LNG tankers,

which is expected to expand to 29

by the end of 2008, MISC is the

world's single largest owner

operator of LNG tankers.

to ensure they exceed the highest

safety and performance standards

The selection was made with

respect to the quality of the

The demand for HERNIS CraneTV is risingHERNIS continuously receive

orders for CraneTV systems and

upgrading of existing camera

stations in line with increased

demand for technology. The

camera stations are installed to

overlook the topside of the load

and the crane hook assembly,

making this an essential tool for

the Crane Operators.

The three different HERNIS

CraneTV systems are designed for

operation in hazardous area, and

depending on the model the

system includes either a joystick

or a push button based control.

• The camera is Exd certified for

Zone 1 and 2 with high IP-rating.

• The camera station consists of a

stainless steel camera housing

and hardened glass.

• The oil damper absorbs shocks

and vibration and keeps the

camera in a stable vertical

position.

• The camera housing is equipped

with thermostatic controlled

heating element as a standard.

• The colour camera is equipped

with a motorized lens, 18 x

optical Zoom and Auto Focus.

With the optional Automatic

Object Tracking System installed,

operation is made even easier. It

automatically zooms on the

predefined object, tracking the

payload during hoisting or

lowering, keeping the object a

constant size on the screen.

As mentioned in our Newsletter

no 2 may 2005, the HERNIS Demo

Room has been renewed with our

latest equipment, such as the Sea

Touch Graphic User Interface.

HERNIS has planned the first User

Forum arrangement this fall.The

invitation goes out to customers

and business associates who are

the actual users of the equipment,

for instance the SeaTouch, at their

respectively work stations and

locations worldwide.

HERNIS intends to update the

customers on the latest techno-

logy within CCTV, and at the same

time we hope to receive first hand

feedback from the users as to

which areas our products can be

utilized in the best way possible.

The HERNIS tradition of inviting

subcontractors and customers to

the HERNIS facilities in Arendal is

of great importance to increase

the competence of the business

collaboration and for mutual under-

standing of needs and demands.

Norwegian customers were invited

to a seminar on 17th June 2005,

and on June 22nd 2005 the

subcontractors were welcomed to

one day of information and activities.

On both events, HERNIS gave

thorough information about new

products and market information

and everybody was taken on a

tour around our factory. In

addition, HERNIS presented their

vision for the future to ensure a

goal-oriented course. Both days

ended with sailing in the idyllic
