I would like to extend a personal invitation to you to join us for a Choir and Piano Clinic to refine our musical skills. We trust that this day will be a blessing to you and enhance the corporate worship of your local church as you offer up a sacrifice of praise (Heb. 13:15). Sincerely, John Banks, Pastor for Worship and Outreach/Discipleship Brian and Laura Dukeshier Brian Keith Dukeshier began piano lessons at the age of four and studied with Mrs. Ina Pegram until he entered college. He won his first competition in the first grade when he played “Ol’ Time Religion” at the South Carolina Association of Christian School Fine Arts Festival on the honors’ recital. At Anderson College he performed Kabalevsky’s Youth Concerto in the fourth grade and received first place. In ninth grade, he won the Gardner-Webb Concerto Competition and performed Schumann’s concerto with the college orchestra. He also won the Greenville Symphony Concerto Competition and performed with the C arolina Youth Symphony. Brian was a semi-finalist in the Young Keyboard Artists’ Association International Competition where he received a scholarship to Interlochen and was a finalist in The Stravinsky Awards. He completed his high school diploma in National Guild Auditions in 1995. While in the seventh grade, Brian sang the lead role in “Amahl and the Night Visitors” with the Greenville Savoyards at the Peace Center in Greenville, South Carolina Brian attended Bob Jones University and received his BA in Piano Performance in 1999, studying piano with the late Dr. Laurence Morton and voice with Dr. Gail Gingery. He accompanied voice and instrumental lessons, sang in a choir, in operas and vespers. He won the Music Teachers National Association Composition competition and his piece was performed at the regional competition. After graduation, Brian completed a three-year internship under Kurt Woetzel at Trinity Baptist Church in Concord, NH. In 2002, he became the music pastor at First Baptist of Sterling Heights, MI. He is currently in his sixth year as the associate pastor at Mountain View Bible Church in Hummelstown, PA working with the music and the youth. He is currently pursuing a masters’ degree in choral conducting at Messiah College. In December of 1998, Brian married Laura French. They have four children: Jackson (10), Tyler (8), Reagan (6) and Grant (3). Brian and Laura have made a CD entitled “A Sacrifice of Praise” which includes both vocal and piano selections. In addition to music, Brian enjoys coaching his sons soccer and baseball teams, gardening, and sports.
