Enter values into the prompts dialog:1. Country hierarchy: The countries are classified in multiple ways.

The standard value is geographically (GEO) but they can also, for example be organized by the BUSS.

2. For the product family or product main group you can either enter a number or select a product with the variable selection button ATTENTION: The numbers for the product family and product main group are different.

3. Quantity Type: There are four different main quantity types: Shipments (SHP): Products physically leaving the factory with a final destination.Retail contracts: New order with a known customer and a signed contract.Invoice, Retail delivery: Physical handover of the machine to final customer with handover declaration.Registrations: When a machine is handed over to the end user and is registered by national traffic (registration) offices or agencies.

How to save an offline version:1. Select the “CLASS” menu2. Click on the “Save offline version” – Button

4. Save the offline version with a name that tells other people what the excel file contains and that includes the date at which the file was made.

How to open the Design display panel for further analysing options:

1. Select the “Analysis” menu2. Click on the “Display” – Button 3. The Analysis Tool will open on the right side, if you

your selection contains a cell from the table.4. You can drag a data source field to the Columns,

Rows or Background filter.The features you have pulled into the Columnand Row sections will appear in your table. The data in the table will be sorted by the order the fields are in these two sections.The data will be filtered by the selections in the Background filter.

Market and Product Data Definitions

Quantity types

Retail contract: New order coming in with customer known and contract signed. When a valid contract is signed by an end customer (a rental company is also seen as a customer). Even when a contract is under condition (financing/subsidies).

Shipments: Physically leaving factory to final destination. When a product is finally assembled and physically leaves the factory source or the customs warehouse for its final destination, which can be to an importer, a dealer, a company branch or direct to the end user. The shipment of the product may not be necessarily at the same time as the invoice.

Invoice, Retail delivery: Physical handover of the machine to final customer with handover declaration.

Registrations: When a machine is handed over to the end user and is registered by national traffic (registration) offices or agencies.

User Interface Controls

Check box:

A check box permits the user to make multiple selections from a number of options. Check boxes are shown on the screen as a square box that can contain white space (for false) or a tick mark (for true). Inverting the state of a check box is done by clicking the mouse on the box.

Expand / collapse tray:

With the button in the upper right corner of the navigation panel you can collapse respectively expand the tray.

Expand / collapse menu bar:

In the upper right corner of the navigation panel is a little triangle. By clicking on this field, the navigation panel collapses to the left side of the screen. To expand the navigation panel, click once again on the triangle.

User Interface Controls

Change language:

You have the possibility to change the language of the user interface of the Web Portal. To change the language, click on thelink “Personalize” in the upper right corner of the screen.

A new popup window opens. Switch to the User Profile-view by clicking in the menu on the link “User Profile” and then click on the “Modify”-button.

If you want to logout, klick on “Log off”

Choose your preferred language and save the changes by clicking the “Save”-button. Now you can close this popup-window. If the language does not switch automatically, refresh the Browser by clicking the “F5”-Button on your keyboard.

You can sort data by values (smallest to largest and largest to smallest) and members (A to Z and Z to A).

Swap Axes: You can swap axes by clicking on in the Display area.

If you select “ascending sorting”, the data is sorted from smallest to largest. Ascending sorting for members results in sorting from A to Z.

If you select “descending sorting”, the data is sorted from largest to smallest. Descending sorting for members results in sorting from Z to A.

This helps you to visualize the workbook differently and according to your needs.

In the default setting, data is sorted in the hierarchy levels of the crosstab. Select the “Break Hierarchies” option to sort data across the entire hierarchy.

Advanced Calculations: You have the possibility to insert different advanced calculations which are automatically actualized when changing data or actualizing data. You need two different periods for that.

1. Select both captions of the periods with CTRL on which the calculations shall be based and then click on in the “Analysis” ribbon. You can only do calculations with the quantity types (e.g. shipments) within a specific time (e.g. period).

2. Click on „Add Calculation“ to choose which arithmetic operation shall be conducted. You can add, substract, multiply ordivide the different columns. In addition, you can also calculate the percentage difference as well as the percentage share. For the arithmetic operations it is important (except add and multiply), which column you select first!

1. Select a cell of the crosstab you want to visualize in a chart. If you want to visualize only a subset of the crosstabdata, you can use Microsoft Excel functionality. If you change the data displayed in the crosstab, e.g. with a filter, the chart is adapted automatically.

When you want to save your datasheet and to have full access to Market Insight data, you have to activate „Store Prompts with Workbook“ (2) in Analysis Components. You can finish your backup with the standard „Save as“ (3) function of excel.

Conditional Formattting: You have the possibility to use Conditional Formatting in your reporting which updates automatically when changing data or loading new data.

1. Select the to be formatted data table with your cursor and click on in the “Analysis” ribbon.

2. With a click on “New…” the following menu appears in which you can specify your own Conditional Formatting:

a) Choose a name for your Conditional Formatting.

b) Choose the column on which the Conditional Formatting shall be applied on.

c) Choose the format of the Conditional Formatting (e.g. status symbol ,background , value or trend ).

d) Define the color/form of the Conditional Format .

e) Define the rules, the Conditional Formatting shall follow. Possible operators are the following:

3. You can save several Conditional Formattings and activate them on different columns. Furthermore, saved Conditional Formattings can be edited, deactivated or deleted afterwards.

4. The saved Conditional Formattings can also be applied to other data queries. They are automatically updated when the data in the tables changes.

5. When e.g. changing the product group or updating the data, the Conditional Formatting is saved and applied automatically.

CAUTION: This does only work for the Conditional Formatting in the„Analysis“ Ribbon. The normal Excel Conditional Formatting is not updated automatically when changing the data.

Implementing Multiple QueriesIf you want to implement more than one data query (Data table) to show different Product groups, time horizons or table resolutions in one document, you can insert more than one Data Query. Please follow the following steps:

1. Insert new data query:

a) Point the cursor in a cell or on an additional worksheet where you would like to place the new data query

b) insert additional data query (choose: Area => CLAAS => CLAAS Sales companies => Market Insight => Market Insight)
