A knowledge and understanding of:
• Microeconomic and macroeconomic analysis including principles, models and
associated mathematical and statistical techniques, along with applications and policy
implications of those models.
• Probability and statistical methods with applications to economic and social issues.
• Key econometric techniques for the empirical analysis of economic phenomena, along
with application of these techniques in a variety of contexts.
Degree + Skills + Experience
• Research and investigative skills such as problem framing and solving and the ability to
assemble and evaluate complex evidence and arguments.
• Personal effectiveness through task-management, time-management, dealing with
uncertainty and adapting to new situations, personal and intellectual autonomy through
independent learning.
• Practical/technical skills such as, modelling skills (abstraction, logic, succinctness),
qualitative and quantitative analysis and general IT literacy.
• Communication - presenting findings and explaining complex data.
• Numeracy - handling complex data and applying mathematical and statistical analysis
methods.

demonstrate these?

Do you understand the needs of a business?
Client focus - Can you see a situation from a client’s viewpoint, whether that’s colleagues
or customers? Can you anticipate their needs?
Do you know what the company does and what their most recent achievements are? Are
you up to speed with the latest trends in the industry? What are the biggest challenges
they face?

• What have you done and achieved? Can you summarise it?
• What are you good at and what do you like doing? Can you talk about it with
enthusiasm?

• What can you bring?
