Acts 20:13-17But going ahead to the ship, we set sail for Assos, intending to take Paul aboard there, for so he had arranged, intending himself to go by land. And when he met us at Assos, we took him on board and went to Mitylene. And sailing from there we came the following day opposite Chios; the next day we touched at Samos; and the day after that we went to Miletus. For Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus, so that he might not have to spend time in Asia, for he was hastening to be at Jerusalem, if possible, on the day of Pentecost. ..

Minimize God’s Word

2 Timothy 3:1-5But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

I hope you don’t preach that. It will hurt a lot of beautiful people.

Godly Ministers Are Gospel-Focused

(v. 21) – testifying both to Jews and to Greeks of repentance toward God and of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Luke 6:26"Woe to you, when all people speak well of you, for so their fathers did to the false prophets.

Repentance…The conscious act of a sinner, whereby he

turns from his sin toward God.

Repentance…(Acts 2:38) – And Peter said to them, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins…

(Acts 3:19) – Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.

(Acts 14:15) – "Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men, of like nature with you, and we bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to a living God

Repentance…(Acts 17:30-31) – The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead."

(Luke 13:3) – No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish

Faith…The positive conviction that the Gospel is
