Fear of the Other Class

Pastor Scott will be offering a Discipleship Class that addresses overcoming the divided nature of relationships in the church and world today and based on the book Fear of the Other by Bishop William Willimon. This study encourages participants, who may be anywhere in their growth as disciples, to explore whom they consider the “Other” to be in their lives and communities and begin regarding the Other from a Christian perspective. This five-week study will be offered on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm in Schell Hall starting August 15 and running each week until September 12. Please let us know your plans to attend by contacting the church office.

August 12th is open for altar flowers. Please contact Joni Veneri at 304.425.3856 if you would like this date.

We are so grateful to the congregation for your support of all of the many areas of our “Shipwrecked” VBS! Folks used their talents in drama, cooking, leading, singing, teaching, organizing, and decorating to provide a fun, yet inspirational week for our community. The generous donations of snacks enabled us to offer a theme-centered snack each evening. Special thanks to Stephanie Bowling for her gifts of time and talents to ensure the many areas of our event were prepared, decorated, and ready for our children during this activity-packed week.
