You may choose to hold your ceremonyin our stunning planetarium or in one ofour traditional suites; whatever yourchoice, our friendly, experienced andprofessional team will help you planevery detail. Of course, you are free tochoose a local church or alternativevenue for your ceremony.

Unlike many other venues, we hold onlyone wedding a day, so you areguaranteed our undivided attention andan exclusive special day. With everythingtaken care of, you are free to relax andenjoy your wedding with your guests.

We are fully licensed for civil ceremonies in ourstunning planetarium and in a range of suites.We offer a choice of suites: the Scotswood, Marlborough, Grainger and the Blaydon & Gibbs.If hiring the planetarium or a suite for a civilceremony, a room hire charge will apply.

It’s the largest planetarium in the North, and with its curved walls,360 degree domed digital screen and comfortablereclining seats, it’s one of the most impressive andintimate venues you’re ever likely to find. T H E S C O T SW O O D S U I T EThe Scotswood, our premier suite, is perfect forlarger ceremonies. This ground floor room is spacious, with high ceilings and minimalist decor – an ideal venue if you’re looking for a classic setting or a blank canvas to transform foryour ceremony.Ceremony: 220 guests

The Scotswood suite can be divided into twosmaller suites which are perfect for more intimateceremonies. Ceremony: Grainger - 160 guestsMarlborough - 140 guests

To arrange your civil ceremony, contact us so we can provisionally hold your preferred date. The next step is to contact the superintendent registrar to check that they canconduct the ceremony. Fees for the ceremony are set by the Registry Office and paid directly to the registrar.
