A. Technique1. Warm air, flat fingers, “doo or dah” for legato, “dut” or “duh” for staccato, mouthpiece on dry part of lip.

B. Jazz recorder literature1. Specifically written for young players — easy melodies, simple harmonies, easy solos to imitate, solo/echo patterns.2. Combination of swing and straight eighth note styles.
