School Improvement Process
•Collaboration•Data Analysis•Commitment to Continuous Improvement
Goal IStudents will improve in their
ability to apply comprehension strategies while reading grade
level text as measured by district assessments and the CMT.
Goal IIStudents will improve in their
ability to independently respond to grade level text orally and in writing as measured by district
assessments and the CMT.
Kindergarten•The percentage of students that will successfully read and retell a grade level text will increase by 10% as measured by the DRA2.•Desired Outcome - 54% in 2006-2007 to 64% in 2007-2008.•Result - 62% at benchmark in June 2008.
Grade 1•The percentage of students that will independently comprehend grade level text will increase by 15% from fall to spring as measured by the DRA2.•Desired Outcome - 43% in September 2007 to 58% in June 2008.• Result - 63% of all 1st grade students were at or above benchmark in June 2008.
Grade 2•The percentage of students that will independently apply comprehension strategies while reading grade level text will increase by 10 percent from fall to spring as measured by the DRA2. • Desired Outcome - 60% in September 2007 to 70% in June 2008.• Result - 77% of students at or above benchmark June 2008.
Grade 3•The percentage of students that will independently respond to grade level text in writing increase by 10% as measured by the CMT.•Desired Outcome - 56% in the 2006-2007 school year to 66% in the 2007-2008 school year. •Result - 59% of students scored at or above goal on 2008 CMT.
Grade 4•The percentage of students that will reach goal on the on the reading portion of the 4th grade CMT will increase 10% from the percentage at goal on last year’s 3rd grade CMT. •Desired Outcome - 56% in grade 3 to 66% in grade 4. • Result – 55% of students scored at or above goal on the 4th grade CMT. •57% of the students that were present in both grades 3 & 4 scored at or above goal. • 45% scored at goal on the 4th grade mastery test in 2007 as compared to 55% in 2008.
