Exhibitor Packets
All exhibitors will receive an exhibitor packet
in the mail. This packet will contain letters
from department superintendents contain-
ing important details pertaining to contests/
shows that you have entered. This packet will
also include a parking permit and two week
long guest passes. Exhibitors should use
their 4-H or FFA cards as an entry pass to
the fair. Additional parking and entry passes
will not be provided. Please park in the des-
ignated lot assigned on your permit. NO
PARKING will be allowed behind the barns
including the Cow Palace dock area.
Entry tags will be available from your county
office beginning August 15th

*GATE POLICY *
Once again, there will be a
bag check at every main
public entry into the fair.
4-H Presents
If you are bringing a cooler
for 4-H presents, park in lots
A or B and enter through the
back door of the Home Arts
Building.
Animals
If you are bringing a cooler
or knives for use with your
animals, do not use a main
gate for entry. You will be
turned away!

Work assistance needed at the food booth in Cow Palace Kitchen at Maryland State Fair
PAY to Workers: $9.00/ hour -- paid directly to worker or your 4-H Club
Proceeds from kitchen go to the 4-H scholarship program
Tasks: taking orders, collecting payment, helping re-stock products, getting drinks and handing the food out to the customer

You may also just stop by the kitchen while you’re at the Fair and see if help is needed, however knowing ahead assist in scheduling.

genetic information, political affiliation, or gender identity and expression.
Quality Assurance Reminder
Did you complete the Animal Husbandry & Quality Assurance Requirements?
All 4-H/FFA members exhibiting animal exhibits in alpacas, beef, dairy, goats, horse
and pony, llamas, poultry, sheep, swine and rabbits are required complete the Mary-
land/West Virginia 4-H and FFA Animal Husbandry & Quality Assurance (AH&QA)
on-line training program to be eligible to exhibit their project animals. Members are
required to complete the on-line training program when they reach each age division
(Juniors (ages 8-10), Intermediates (ages 11-13), Seniors (ages 14-18) – all as of Janu-
ary 1 of the current year) OR when as Intermediates and Seniors, they are new to an
animal science project listed above. Thus, each time a member enters a new age divi-
sion, they will be required to complete the training PLUS if an Intermediate or Senior
4-H or FFA member chooses to show a new species since last completing the program
within an age division they must return to the program and complete the program for
the new species area.
To be eligible to show at the Maryland State Fair AHQA needs to be com-
pleted by August 10th at 11:59 p.m.
For questions or assistance completing the requirements please contact your local 4-H
Office.

Grand Parade Celebration
Participate in the Grand Parade Celebration on:
Sunday August 27th, at 6 p.m. in front of the
Grandstand
Help us celebrate the 136th Maryland State Fair by
joining in the parade! 4-H clubs, FFA chapters, and
County entries are all welcome to participate. Stag-
ing begins at 4 p.m. Cash prizes and ribbons will be
awarded in each category.

If you are participating in a judging event, fashion
revue, robotics, or engineering contest please be in
contact with your county educator to ensure that you
are registered. For Example:

Do You Still Have Your Champion Touch?
4-H Alumni Baking Contest
September 2nd, 2017
at The Maryland State Fair.
Premiums will be awarded to top entries in each class. Entries from each class will be eligible to be sold in the
Maryland State Auctioneers State Calling Contest Saturday September 2nd at 2:00 pm on the Carolina
Carport Stage.
Proceeds will benefit The Maryland 4-H Foundation.
Pre-entry is encouraged however not required.
