(A) Facility Features

“Four in One” Site; “Four” facilities in “One” site. Three-Buildings with 17,000 SF total on 2.69 Acres of Land.b. Sports Building:

In-door full basketball court. “Game Room” Extra rooms with good potential for “Fitness Center”

c. Educational Building: Ten decent-size class rooms. Big Hall. Could be used as a “Conference Room” or be broken down to offer more class rooms. Extra spaces for “Library & Reading Room”, “Computer Lab”.

d. Social & Entertainment Building: Multi-purpose building featuring:

Full kitchen, Two Restrooms & shower, Two separate rooms for babysitting & nursing station, Big open area for gatherings, celebrations.

e. Outdoor Facility: catering for the following activities: Picnics. Outdoor Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball. Playground Parking Lot: two sides with ~80 parking spots

(B) Remodeling Activities

1. Educational BuildingWork already done:

1. Replacing the roof of the buildings; using top-line shingles with life time warranty.2. Replacing ALL windows with high efficiency, double hinged windows.3. Changing ALL outside doors4. Replacing ALL lights with high-efficiency, energy-saving, white-bright fluorescent panels.5. Painting ALL building rooms and halls.6. Remodeling the big hall in to create:

a. Two more class rooms, b. Big Hall to host a library, and a multi-media center hosting a satellite campus for MAS-Islamic

American University,c. Social Services Office,d. A computer lab & executive meetings room.

7. Carpeting all educational building; all classrooms, daycare rooms, the big hall and hallways.8. Connecting the High-speed wireless internet service (all buildings are connected).

Work to be done:1. Furnishing the classrooms (individual desks & chairs)2. Renovating the HVAC system by renovating the current big units and installing a new HVAC system

for the unconditioned areas (the two new classrooms, the library & computer lab, the two front offices).Installing a telecom sound system connecting the office to all classrooms and halls.

3. Furnishing the computer lab and installing the Broadband Fiber Glass internet service (UC2B Project).4. Furnishing the library & providing the material (Audio, video, DVD’s, CD’s, books)5. Furnishing the A/V equipment in the Multi-media room (Preparing the University Satellite Campus).

2. Sports BuildingWork already done:

Renovating & stuffing the “Games & Entertainment” room in the Gym balcony.7. Preparing professional architecture drawings for remodeling the “Fitness Center”

Work to be done:1. Installing throughout wall cushions allowing playing indoor soccer.2. Renovating the HVAC system.3. Changing the gym flooring and installing the sports equipments.4. Remodeling and furnishing the Gym reception area.5. Installing a built-in sound system.6. Installing an electronic Score Board.7. Remodeling the area of the “Fitness Center” and providing the workout machines & equipment.

3. Banquette Hall Building Work already done:

1. Replacing the roof using top-line shingles with life time warranty.2. Replacing ALL windows; providing ALL buildings with high efficiency, double hinged windows.3. Changing the main and side doors.4. Preparing professional architecture drawings & blue prints for the “Banquet remodeling.

Work Currently Undertaken:1. Relocating & renovating the bathrooms (handicap-accessed).2. Remodeling the kitchen space.3. Installing new HVAC system.4. Installing new floor.5. Installing new Commercial kitchen appliances.6. Installing a sound system.7. Remodeling the entrance: installing fountain, flower bids, lighting, wind-shield barrier.

4. Outdoor FacilityWork already done:

1. Fencing the whole site: 6’ strong wire-mesh fence securing the presence of the children.2. Casting a big concrete slab connecting the back of the three buildings to establish a spacious outdoor

picnic pavilion serving around 300 people.3. Extending the capacity of the parking facility by creating a gravel area providing more than 30 more

parking spots on the north eastern side of the sports building.4. Planting 24 fruit trees.5. Installing outside lightings at the concrete area.6. Preparing professional architecture drawings for outdoor remodeling including; Playground, Soccer

Court, volleyball Court, and Walking Track.7. Installing a commercial Play Ground.

Work to be done:1. Installing a decent playground.2. Building the pavilion shed “Canopy” in the outdoor picnic area.3. Remodeling the outdoor field (hosting a soccer & two volleyball courts)4. Providing the outdoor sports equipments.5. Installing outside lighting system for the play ground and soccer field areas.6. Installing the security cameras and security system.7. Repaving & marking the parking lot.8. Landscaping the facility with seasonal flower beds & tress.

(C) Activities took place in the MAS-Center in last two year

1. Educational Events: a. Regular Quran Institute program: Saturdays [3-15 Y]b. Blossoms Morning Program: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays [9am-12 noon, 2009-2010] c. Quran Ijaza “Certificates”: Two Ijaza in Quran Memorization and three Ijaza in Tajweed (2010,

2011). Ijaza “Certificate” was awarded to two adults who memorize the whole Quran after they were asked to recite the whole Quran from memory to one of the MAS Quran Institute staff who is a certified “Ijaza” holder who is approved by Prominent Sheikh Abdulfattah Madkour from Egypt. Three certificates were awarded in Tajweed in the Narattion of Hafs.

d. QI- Hajj Simulation Project (Nov. 2010). Students practiced Hajj rituals moving from one station to another in the Gym in as they learnt in the Classrooms.

e. QI-Muhammad Night (March 2011). Students, parents and community concluded the activities of the theme of “I Love Muhammad” which students studied in a month long. Event included poem, plays, songs, ppt presentations, poster & T-Shirt designs expressing love to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

f. QI Teachers Training Workshop (May 21-22, 2011). Quran Institute teachers received hands-on training on how to use the “Nourania” method in teaching Quran recitation to students. Training was provided by a qualified expert in “Nourania” method from MAS-Chicago Quran Institute.

2. Family & Community Events: a. “MAS-CC Fundraising” (May 15th 09)b. Wedding Party (May 29th 09)c. MSA Mom & Dad Day (March 13th 2010)d. Parenting Workshop: " Parents as Role Models, Teachers and Friends"(March 28th 2010)e. Summer Picnic & Festival (July 24th 2010)f. Newborn “Aqiqah” gathering (August 7th 2010)g. Gym activities for Ethnic groups (Saudi, Turkish) (2010, 2011)

3. Social Services & Activism Events: a. Semi-Truck load giveaway distribution. Received donated items from Life for Relief and Development for

give-away.b. Monthly Interfaith Dinner (Give-away food & material). Affiliating with different faith groups in providing

support to needy segments of the society by providing them with free food and personal items of interest.c. Neighborhood Ramadan Iftar (August 20th 2010). Neighborhood was invited to a dinner “Iftar” in MAS

Gym introducing the meaning of Ramadan and fasting in support of the concepts of “Compassion” in developing the sense of Citizenship crossing the limiting boundaries such as faith, ethnicities, etc.

d. UC2B: Urbana-Champaign Big Broadband fiber glass internet connection project. MAS Center is site # 208 in the UC consortium which is led by U of I, City of Urbana & City of Champaign. MAS Center is identified as one of the sites which will be providing public computer access and training to the neighborhood for computer literacy and training.

e. Interfaith Environment Protection Forum (April 30, 2011). Representatives from the First Mennonites Church, Catholic Church in addition to MAS-UC addressed the audience with how their respective faiths speaks on and advocates the issue of Environment Protection.

4. Youth Events: a. Friday Weekly Volleyball night for males.b. Thursday Weekly Volleyball night for females.c. Youth Camp: Hosting almost 100 youth from UC & Chicago (June 25-26, 2010)d. Friday Ramadan sports night with Suhur. (Ramadan 2010)e. Weekly “Friday” Islamic Study “Halaqa” for High School & College Males.f. Junior Youth Group Monthly Event (March 5th, 2011), (April 30th, 2011)
