DIVISION OF DEVON & CORNWALL
Volume 1, Issue 2.
December 2020
Worthy Knights welcome to this our
second edition.
As I sit in my kitchen having porridge for break-fast, on this cold crispy morning, I
am looking down the valley, opposite my house, the frost is sharp and a light mist has formed at the valley bottom, there is a clear blue sky and life feels good! Amazing what a bit of sun will do! There can be no doubt that this
has been a difficult year, but the things are looking a little more rosy for 2021. Now that there are vaccines coming on line, hopefully by the spring we will see real progress in getting rid of this terrible pandemic and getting our live back to normal. My how time passes, last week it was the Divisional meeting, and for the very first time in our history it had to be done by a zoom meeting. Thank you to all who joined us, I actually enjoyed it, in the end! But it was good to
catch up with you all .
For me this always signals the start of the Christmas period, fortunately it looks like we will, for a few days, be able to catch up and see our loved ones! Marilyn and I haven't seen our
Grandchildren, who live in the Midlands since last year, but maybe for Christmas? We of course miss them greatly but luckily for us our other daughter lives nearby, so we see our other three Grandchildren quite often. I know many of you are the same as us, but as we are getting older of course we must take care not to let our guard down.
Being a Christian Order of Freemasonry this is of course a very special time for us. Marilyn and I wish you all a very happy Christmas, we look forward to seeing you all next year, Meanwhile keep safe Yours in Faith, Unity and Zeal,
Richard—Intendant General.
Divisional Meeting via Zoom 28th November
Christmas thoughts from our Intendant General
The Divisional Meeting, traditionally held in Torquay was this year held on Zoom and our Intendant General Rt.Ill.Kt. Richard Lucas was delighted that so many knights from across the country as well as from our own division attended a total of 67 attendees.
Our Guests included R. Ill. Kt. P. Hawken MBE GCC Deputy Grand Sovereign, and Intendant Generals, Deputies and other representatives from nine Divisions in the Country.
There were also representatives from the Craft, Holy Royal Arch Chapter the Mark Degree, Knights Templar, Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia, Order of the Secret Monitor, Royal and Select Masters, the Allied Masonic Degrees, Knights Templar Priests and the Royal Order of Scotland.
In his address the R.Ill. Intendant General expressed his thanks to all who had supported the Divisional Meeting this year, with a special thanks to our distinguished guests and Heads of other Masonic Orders in Devon and Cornwall who were members of the Division. In paying tribute to the support and dedication that he had received during the past year, the R.Ill. Intendant General thanked his Deputy I.G., Treasurer, Marshal and Deputy Marshal and the members of the Sepulchre Guard for their support.
Please consider holding a Zoom Conclave meeting—Contact Ill.Kt. Alan Cockman for help in setting one up.
