Sacraments
Go therefore and make disciples of
all nations, baptizing in the name of
the Father and of the Son, and of
the Holy Spirit, teaching them to
observe all that I have commanded
you. (Matthew 28: 19-20)
We welcome into the Roman Catholic Church:
Maximilian Enzo Barriga,
Noah Jeanne
who were baptized January 8, 2017
For the reason a man shall leave his
father and mother and be joined to his
wife, and the two shall become one flesh.
So they are no longer two, but one flesh.
Therefore, what God has joined together,
no human being must separate. (Matthew 19:5-6)
We welcome you to celebrate the Sacraments with our
Parish Family.
Please contact our Parish Secretary to arrange for any
Baptism or Wedding.

Stewardship Corner
"Of Those to Whom Much is Given
Much is Expected" (Luke 12:48)
The holiday season recently came
to a conclusion when the Magi
arrived bearing gifts. Our Christmas decorations are
packed away for next year and we settle into the
cold months of winter. Among the many
decorations that we saw at Christmas were
luminarias, small lanterns that are placed along a
pathway to light the way. Many of you were
"luminarias" to those less fortunate by participating
in the Giving Tree wish list ornaments. The Giving
Tree and similar efforts such as Thanksgiving Dinner
Outreach and Family Promise week bring joy to
those who cannot provide for gifts or necessities.
But these efforts also bring joy to us as we share
our material blessings with others, as God intends.
Although our decorations, have been put in storage,
let us continue to be the "luminarias" that light the
way of Christ by sharing our time, talent and
treasure with others throughout the year of 2017.

Can you say "I have testified Jesus is the Son of God?" If you aren't talking about Jesus in your family, you aren't testifying. If you are not talking your talk, your children will see your words as meaningless.

II Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario
Primera Lectura: Isaías 49, 3. 5-6
La primera lectura muestra como
la figura del Siervo está ceñida a
la dimensión profética de este
personaje que canta el autor de
los mismos. El papel del Siervo es
reunir a Jacob e Israel, dos
nombres, epónimos, para hablar
de la totalidad del pueblo.
Segunda Lectura: 1Co 1, 1-3
Evangelio: San Juan 1, 29-34
En el texto queda patente que
Juan actuaba por medio del
bautismo de agua para la
conversión; de Jesús se quiere
afirmar que trae el bautismo
nuevo, radical, en el Espíritu,
para la misma conversión y par la
vida. Uno es algo ritual y externo;
otro es interior y profundo: sin el
Espíritu todo puede seguir igual,
incluso la religión más acendrada.
Tiempo Ordinario: Un caminar
con Jesús
Después de cuatro semanas de
preparación en el tiempo de
Adviento para recibir una vez
más a Jesús el salvador en
Navidad, ahora nos adentramos
en el Tiempo Ordinario, tiempo
donde vamos a reflexionar la vida
de Jesús, su cercanía con los
pobres, con los más necesitados.
Reflexionemos un poco de este
Tiempo. Es el tiempo más antiguo
de la organización del año
cristiano. Y además, ocupa la
mayor parte del año: 33 ó 34
semanas. El Tiempo Ordinario
tiene su gracia particular que hay
que pedir a Dios y buscarla con
toda la ilusión de nuestra vida:
así como en este Tiempo
Ordinario vemos a un Cristo ya
maduro, responsable ante la
misión que le encomendó su
Padre, le vemos crecer en edad,
sabiduría y gracia delante de Dios
su Padre y de los hombres, le
vemos ir y venir, desvivirse por
cumplir la voluntad del Padre.
Continuamos la próxima semana.
