ST. CLARE COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN will host the PBDCCW Development Day, especially informative to CCW officers and committee chairs, on Saturday, October 11th from 9:00am-3:00pm. Registration is $15.00

and response is due no later than October 5th. Also, the Central Deanery Fall General Meeting will be on Saturday, October 4th from 8:30AM-2:00PM at Holy Name of Jesus Church in

West Palm Beach. Registration is $20.00, including continental breakfast and lunch, and response is due no later than September 27th. Those wishing to attend either or both of these events must RSVP to Mary Brocato at 626-6403 or [email protected] by the dates specified.

SAVE THE DATE! St. Clare CCW invites all adults and children in our school and parish families to the 34th Annual Living Rosary on Tuesday, October 7th at 7:15PM.

SECOND GRADERS IN OUR PARISH are eligible to receive their First Communion. If you have a second grader that you would like to make their First Communion this year, we are still accepting applications for the religious education program. You may register Tuesday night at 7:00pm in the main school building or stop by the parish office. Classes have already started, so please register ASAP.

BIBLE STUDY WILL RESUME this Thursday, September 25th from 7:30-9:00pm in the St. Clare School Library. The first 45 minutes will be reading and discussing the upcoming Sunday’s liturgical readings using the “Sunday by Sunday” commentary published by The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. There will be ten minute social break with refreshments. Then there will be faith based study for thirty minutes. We will be using the video series “Catholicism The New Evangelization” by Very Reverend Robert E. Barron and the EWTN series “Reason to Believe” by Dr. Scott Hahn. THE LIFETEEN YOUTH MINISTRY at St. Peter Church in Jupiter will be hosting its annual Craft Fair on October 4th & 5th! We invite you to participate as a vendor or a shopper. Our Christmas season will be upon us before you know it and here is a great way to start your shopping. VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE IN OCTOBER- All voters must be registered by OCTOBER 6 in order to vote in the November 4th General Election. Citizens have a right and a duty to participate in the electoral process. Parishioners who are not registered to vote are encouraged to do so. This can

be accomplished by visiting the website of the Florida Division of Elections, http://election.dos.state.fl.us/voter-registration/voter-reg.shtml. Follow the instructions for completing and mailing the voter registration form. You will receive a voter registration card in the mail to confirm your registration. Follow the same procedure to update your name and address or change your party affiliation.

RESPECT LIFE WEEKEND - Pro-Life Prayer Chains are planned for the first weekend in October at various Parishes and locations within the Diocese of Palm Beach in observance of Respect Life Sunday, which occurs on Sunday, October 5th. On Respect Life Sunday, Catholics celebrate life and participate in pro-life events. October is also part of Respect Life Month designated as such by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) to encourage all to reflect during the entire month in a special way on the respect for all life and the dignity of all life. The life chains have been arranged thorough Catholic Charities Respect Life Office. For a complete list, visit www.diocesepb.org/events. The closest one is at the Cathedral of St. Ignatius Loyola from 2:00-3:00PM, 9999 N. Military Trail in Palm Beach Gardens.

ST. CLARE SCHOOL NEWS

Coaches Needed – Coach Meyerowich is in need of coaches for the following sports Boys Lacrosse (February), Girls Softball (February), Girls Soccer (January) and JV Girls basketball (October). If you are interested in volunteering please call 622-7171 or email [email protected].

School Buddies – Did you know that St. Clare’s younger students are matched with middle school buddies? Last week 1st and 7th grade students met their new buddies and worked on compare and contrast graphic organizers. The buddy program helps promote leadership and a sense of school community.

50th Anniversary Mass – On October 12 at 11:30 AM, Bishop Barbarito will celebrate St. Clare School’s 50th Anniversary Mass. If you are an alumni and would like to participate in the choir, as a reader or gift bearer please contact Pam McDowell at [email protected] or call 622-7171.

The Fall Scholastic Book Fair will be held in the St. Clare Catholic School Media Center Tuesday, September 23rd through Friday, September 26th between the hours of 7:00am and 4:00pm. (2:30pm on Friday). All parishioners are welcome to attend! Proceeds from the sale will benefit the school.
