A N N O U N C E M E N T S

We will have a special collection the weekend of September 9-10, 2017. For our brothers and sisters in Texas and Louisiana who have been so deeply af-fected by the effects of Hurricane Harvey. These funds will then be directed to the United States Con-ference of Catholic Bishops, who is working with Catholic Charities USA to get the assistance needed to those in each of the impacted Dioceses. Please continue to include among your prayers all of those who lives have been so greatly affected in the wide-spread devastation following this storm. Know of my gratitude for your immediate attention to this request and of my prayers, always for you and all those you serve. In Christ, Most Reverend Luis R. Zarama Bishop of Raleigh Second Collection: 9/17, we will have a second collec-tion for Knights of Columbus Coats for kids. 10/8, we will collect for The Catholic University of America. This collection envelope is dated September 9-10.

The Circle of Friends will have its monthly meeting on Monday, September 11 at 12 noon. All are welcome to join us. Bring a lunch and enjoy desserts provided by our excellent bakers! The Diocese of Raleigh will observe Respect Life

Sunday on Sunday, October 1 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral, 715 Nazareth Drive, Raleigh, NC 27606. Bishop Luis Rafael Zarama will be the main celebrant and homilist for this occasion, and a reception will follow under a tent on the grounds. All are invited. Are you celebrating your 10th, 25th, 50th or 50+ anni-versary of marriage? If so, please join Bishop Luis Zara-ma at the annual Wedding Anniversary Mass on Sun-day October 8 at 3:00pm at Holy Name of Jesus Cathe-dral in Raleigh to celebrate your calling to the vocation of marriage. Sanctuary Lamp: The Sanctuary Lamp burns this week in memory of The Circle of Friends. If you would like to sponsor the lamp for a week in memory of a loved one, please call the office to schedule.

We will start another divorce group on Sept 18th, at 6:30 PM at St Peter in Greenville, spiritual life cen-ter. Please forward information in your bulletin for the following 2 weeks, would like to help anyone we can. Classes have started at John Paul II Catholic High School for the 2017-2018 school year. Finishing touches are being put on the outside of the building and our new front entrance will be fully operational this week. Students have new iPads and are excited about the new science lab! Sports such soccer and track have begun the fall season and student clubs and organization have started meeting. This is destined to be our greatest year yet! Project Rachel Support Group If you are suffering from an abortion, experience the love of Jesus Christ at a Project Rachel weekend retreat December 8-10, 2017. The weekend retreat, for both women and men, will com-bine discussions, spiritual exercises, the sacrament of rec-onciliation, a Memorial Service, and a Mass of the Resur-rection. Participation is strictly confidential and offers a beautiful opportunity to experience God’s love, for-giveness, and compassion. The cost is $150 for lodging at Avila Retreat Center, meals, and all retreat materials. If you have a financial burden, some assistance is available.
