The Third Sunday of Advent is known in Latin as the “Gaudete Sunday”. It is a Sunday that invites us to rejoice. The joy of Christ the Savior is different from the joys of the world in three ways. 1ST, IT DOESN'T WEAR OUT. This is because it comes from something that is alive: our relationship with Christ. This is why the Christmas tree is an evergreen tree. In winter, the other trees are leafless and dormant. But the evergreen tree is still green and fragrant. The evergreen symbolizes hope amid winter’s lifeless, cold, and dark days. 2ND, CHRIST’S JOY GETS MORE AND MORE INTENSE AS WE ADVANCE IN OUR JOURNEY OF FAITH. This is why the vestments for today's Mass are rose-colored. They remind us of the color of the sky at dawn, when the horizon takes on a pale rose color that gradually gets redder and brighter as the sun rises. For faithful Christians, life is like a long sunrise, and death is the entrance into the bright, everlasting day of eternal life. 3RD, THE MORE WE GIVE THIS JOY TO OTHERS, THE MORE WE WILL HAVE FOR OURSELVES. And this, of course, is why we have the tradition of exchanging gifts on Christmas. Jesus himself told us that "It is more blessed to give than to receive". We have all experienced that when we do something for others, even if it is costly or uncomfortable for us, we ex-perience true fulfillment and satisfaction. Like the candle-light service on Easter Vigil, by lighting someone else's candle with ours, we lose nothing, and gain more light and warmth than we had before.
We had even more reasons to rejoice the past week because of the celebration of our Pa-tron – Our Lady of Guadalupe – whose feast we celebrated with great joy. My most sincere thanks to all who were instruments in making this celebration something really meaningful and beautiful. Thank you all especially our Art and Environment Team, Food, Cleaning, Mu-sic and the Festive committee who made sure every little aspect were taken care of. May God Bless you all and may the intercession of the Blessed mother of Guadalupe be always with you.

Mensaje del Pastor,El tercer domingo de Adviento es conocido en Latín como “Domingo de Gaudete”. Es un do-mingo que nos invita a regocijarnos. La alegría de Cristo el Salvador es diferente de las ale-grías del mundo en tres formas. 1A, NO SE DESGASTA. Esto es porque viene de algo que está vivo: nuestra relación con Cristo. Es por eso que el ár-bol de Navidad es un árbol de hoja siempre verde. En el invierno, los otros árboles están sin hojas y durmiente. Pero los árboles de Navidad siempre se mantienen verdes y fragantes. Lo siempre verde simboliza esperanza entre el invierno frio y sin vida y de días oscuros. 2O, LA ALEGRÍA DE CRISTO SE VUELVE MÁS Y MÁS INTENSA MIENTRAS AVANZAMOS EN NUESTRO RECORRIDO DE FE. Es por eso que las vestimentas de la Misa de hoy son de color rosa. Nos recuerda el color del cielo al amanecer, cuando el horizonte toma un color rosa pálido que gradualmente se tor-na rojizo y más brillante cuando sale el sol. Para los fieles cristianos, la vida es como un largo amanecer y la muerte es la entrada dentro del día brillante a la vida eterna. 3O, ENTRE MÁS ALEGRÍA DEMOS A LOS DEMÁS, MÁS ALEGRÍA TENDREMOS PARA NOSOTROS. Y esto es, por supuesto, el por qué tenemos la tradición de intercambiar regalos en Navidad. Jesús mismo nos dijo que "es más bendecido dar que recibir". Todos hemos experimentado que cuando hacemos algo para otros, aún si es costoso o incómodo para nosotros, experi-mentamos verdadero cumplimiento y satisfacción. Como el servicio de encender las velas en la Vigilia Pascual, cuando encendemos las velas de otros con la nuestra, no perdemos na-da y ganamos más luz y calor del que teníamos antes.
Tenemos más razones para estar felices por la semana pasada en que celebramos las festivi-dades de nuestra Patrona – Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe – cuya fiesta celebramos con gran alegría. Mi sincero agradecimiento a todos los que fueron instrumentos para hacer esta ce-lebración algo verdaderamente significativo y hermoso. Gracias a todos, especialemente al equipo de Arte y Ambientación, al de la comida, de limpieza, música y al comité del las festi-vidades que se aseguró de que se cuidara cada pequeño aspecto. Que Dios los bendiga a to-dos y que la intercesión de la Santísima Virgen de Guadalupe este siempre con ustedes.

Centro Parroquial 40382 Fremont Blvd. Los niños de la Parroquia nos guiarán en una Posada tradicional. Las Posadas es una tradición mexicana navideña basada en la historia bíblica de José y María buscando un lugar seguro donde para el nacimiento del Niño Jesús. Se celebran del 16 al 24 de diciembre, al terminar la posada se les regalará a los niños una bolsa con dulces “aguinaldo”.
