This is a highly hands-on and application-focused workshop.
You have to bring along your training programme(s) that you designed or ran to enhance the
overall delivery effectiveness
It will take the form of facilitated discussion, experience-sharing, practice and receiving feedback to
enable mutual learning

WORKSHOP LEADER: ELLY ZEE
Elly is a seasoned HR, learning and development professional, with over 20 years of experience specialising in
organisational culture & behaviors, team alignment and strategic planning sessions, as well as leadership and
management development. Elly started off her career as a management trainee of the UK Swire Group, thereafter
moving into total quality management and HR arena in a number of different industries, such as airlines (Cathay
Pacific); shipping (Orient Overseas Container Line); insurance (AIA/AIG); HR/training consultancy (DDI);
manufacturing (Johnson Electric); and she spent another 10 years of her career in the banking field, being HSBC’s
unit head for leadership & management development in Asia Pacific, as well as DBS Group Head of Learning &
Talent Management.
COURSE CONTENT
Day One Day Two
1. The “Professional Standard”
The workshop will kick-start with sharing and aligning
what the “professional standard” should look like,
providing you a checklist to gauge your own baseline
standard for ongoing improvement.
2. Roles of a Trainer
The Do’s and Don’ts for trainer.
3. Training Delivery Skills
- Preparation work
- Delivery skills with confidence and impact
- Handling classroom scenarios
- Art of delivering feedback
- Art of story telling
- Engaging participants to enhance learning
effectiveness
4. Practice
Participants will take turn to practice running specific
sections of their designated training programs and
receive feedback.
5. Consolidation of Learning & Action Planning
Based on your own key strengths/weaknesses as a
facilitator, you will conclude key takeaways and then
map that into an action plan for your next training
delivery.
6. The Art of Instructional Design
Key criteria to assess program design, what
makes a well-designed program and what
does not.
Designing a program from scratch – key
thinking process and considerations.
7. Self-Auditing & Enhancement
Based on the key principles learned, you will
examine your current programme(s) on
hand, make enhancement and share
feedback for mutual learning.
8. Learning Evaluation & Application
This final section is to focus on evaluating
your progress and application. It will be
followed with an open forum to address any
other outstanding questions and/or topics
participants would like to bring forth.
PREREQUISITES
It is highly recommended that participants have at least 5 years or more experience in conducting and, desirably,
designing training solutions/training workshops/programmes.
