Biography
My name is Tanner Reno, I am a Junior here at Reinhardt. I play basketball here as well and plan to major in Middle Grades Education. I have a wonderful family. I’m the youngest of 3; I have 2 sisters, one whom is married. I love Alabama football and the Atlanta Braves.
Standards
M2N1. Students will use multiple representations of numbers to connect symbols to quantities.
a. Represent numbers using a variety of models, diagrams, and number sentences (e.g., 4703 represented as 4,000 + 700 + 3, and units, 47 hundreds + 3, or 4,500 + 203).
Goals for future
I want to be the fun and goofy teacher that all of the kids love. I also want to be the teacher that my students will never forget!!
Beginning
Abacus was one of the very first methods of counting.
It was first created by the Chinese.
It is also known as the saunpan.
Two sections
The Abacuses are separated into two sections.
The top section only has one bead… this bead is multiplied by five.
The lower section has 4 beads and they count as one.
You only count the beads that touch the bar in the middle.
The different values
Each color bead counts for a different number.
Blue – Ones Green – Tens Orange – Hundreds Pink – Thousands
