Instructions for Making File Folder Game
File folder games are very easy to make and can be used over and over again. It is best to print sheets up on white card stock. This will make the file folder game more durable.
It also is a good idea to cover the file folder game with clear contact paper or self laminating sheets.
You will need to have empty file folders. You can get these at most stores in the office supply section. They will carry either plain or colored file folders.
After you print up the sheets, trim and laminate the game pieces, attached the full size sheets into the file folder. You Wil be using the inside – both sides for this file folder game. There is also a title, directions and graphic for the front of this file folder game. Attach the pieces with either double sided tape or glue. (I prefer double sided tape – which can be purchased at either a scrapbook store or the scrapbook section of most stores). Cover with clear contact paper or self laminating sheet.
Where applicable, use Velcro to keep the pieces in place.Use a zip lock baggie to store the game pieces when not in use and store inside the file folder game.

Directions:
Print up sheets for file folder game onto white card stock. If using B & W set, color. Place the full sheet page inside and on the back of file folder using double sided tape. Using self laminating sheets or clear contact paper, lay over the pages on the front, inside and the back to laminate. (This will protect the file folder game and you can use it year after year.
Cut out and laminate community helper pictures.
How to play:Have children use the community helper pictures and match to the outlined shapes inside the file folder and on the back if the file folder. To make it easier to keep word cards in place, use a piece of Velcro for each card.
(You will need white card stock, file folder, double sided tape and laminating sheets to complete this file folder game. Crayons or markers if you are using the B & W file).
