Mater Grove Academy Reopening Survey● Survey is already closed. The only survey that is open is if you want to

Remote-Live Instruction (RLI) Instruction would take place with teachers teaching live,

in real time, online daily.

HybridA combination of on-campus and

Remote-Live Instruction. This model will allow for reduced density on campus

and improved social distancing.

Face to FaceStudents will be on-campus daily.

Safety FirstAs we prepare to welcome students back on campus, our school’s top priority is the safety of your child and of our entire school community. Please rest assured that we are committed to following the most current health and safety guidelines, including social distancing and face coverings, from the CDC, American Academy of Pediatrics, Florida Department of Education, and local officials. In order to do so, we are counting on your cooperation in helping us keep our students and teachers safe.

ElementaryThe amount of in person requests (both Face to Face / Hybrid) has exceeded our classroom capacity.

Middle School Bell Schedule

Re-Opening Phased Return to SchoolWe will begin a phased return to school starting on October 5, 2020. Students in the Blue Team will attend school this week beginning on their grade level specified day (If your last name begins with the letter A-L, see below).

Kindergarten -1st Grade October 52nd Grade - 3rd Grade October 64th and 5th Grade October 7Middle School (6-8 Grade) October 8

Students in the Yellow Team (whose last name begins with letter M-Z) will remain in Remote Live Instruction (RLI) on October 12, 2020 (all grades). A calendar will be sent tomorrow.

Blue, Yellow and Gold TeamBlue Team: Students whose last name begins with the letters A-L will be part of the blue team.

Yellow Team: Students whose last name begins with M-Z will be part of the part of the yellow team.

Gold Team: Students that are in Remote Live Instruction Only are all part of the Gold Team.

If you have 2 children whose last name is different and they fall into the 2 different groups, then you must contact

the main office in order to adjust their group. Teachers will send teams tomorrow.

Classroom of the Future

● Classrooms will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology to support Remote-Live Instruction.

● COTF includes a smart board and large flat screen display panels in the back of each classroom, which allows the teacher to easily see and interact with the students learning from home. There are state-of-the –art high definition tracking cameras and microphones for both visual and audio clarity.

● Each student joining through Remote-Live Instruction (RLI) will receive the same high-quality education as their in-person peers

● Students can ask questions in real-time and take part in discussions with the teacher and their classmates.

In Person Requirements

Beginning with the 2020-2021 School Year students will have some new requirements for in person attendance during Brick and Mortar instruction.● Students are required to bring their lanyard with ID (will be issued during the first month of school)● School Issued Device – Students must bring their fully charged device - and headphones to school

with them daily. Please keep device chargers at home if possible.● Personal Device – If your child will bring their personal device to school, please keep in mind that we

are not liable for broken or lost devices. Additionally, please label the device and charging cord with the first and last name of the student.

■ Students are required to come to school in full uniform. ■ Masks do not need to have school logo

but must be appropriate!

Safety Requirements● Students, faculty, and staff will be required to wear masks while on campus. Students

will not be allowed to exit the car without the appropriate mask/face covering. Face shield may be worn with a mask, but not alone. Please refer to Reopening guide for more information. (NO bandannas and no valve masks)

● Students will be asked to wash their hands upon entry using our hand sanitation stations in the entrance. We have installed hand sanitizer dispenser throughout the entire school. Your child may also bring hand sanitizer.

● Students must bring water bottles labeled with their name.● Classrooms have been set up to follow social distance guidelines.

Isolation Room● Students SHOULD NOT be sent to school if they are feeling sick, or have

any flu like symptoms.● This room is utilized only if your child shows symptoms while in school.● Isolation room will be monitored by a nurse.● You will be required to pick up your child within one hour of being contacted

by the school.

Personal SuppliesBring your own devices & supplies:•Students who choose the Brick and Mortar and/or Flexible-Combined Learning model, MUST be able to bring their own laptop, as one will NOT be provided by the school. At this time, we have distributed our entire available supply of technology to students.•Students will not be allowed to share materials.•Mater Grove Academy shall not be liable for the loss, theft, or damage of personally owned devices brought on campus.•WiFi - The school will provide the necessary technology and connectivity to families identifying a need.

Arrival Drop off will begin at 8:00 AM. No students can be left prior to that time. Please be patient as we safely welcome your children back to our school campus.Before arriving to school, parents will be required to complete a self-assessment survey electronically (more information will be sent home soon) at home for their child. If your child exhibits any flu like symptoms they must remain at home using Remote Live Instruction (RLI). Students who report to school and exhibit any flu like symptoms will be placed in Isolation Room and must be picked up by the parents within one hour.It is required that students be dropped off in the car lane where their temperature will be taken before exiting the car. No students may be dropped off prior to receiving a temperature check.

No walk ups will be allowed (if you have a special circumstance you must reach out to the office for special accommodations.)

Breakfast and Lunch● Breakfast will not be served until further notice for Face to Face or Hybrid

students. Parents who will continue to pick up their lunch for RLI students will have the option of picking up breakfast and lunch together.

Physical Education● Physical Education teachers will use games and activities that

require no physical contact and do not require students to be in close proximity to each other.

● The wearing of masks will be mandatory during Physical Education.● Students must wash their hands or apply hand sanitizer

before and after class.

Afterschool● Boys & Girls will not have any new registration next week.● If your child is currently part of the program they can continue.● Please visit Boys and Girls if you are interested in enrolling your child.● They will be there Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm

DismissalEach student will receive a Silent Dismissal Card on the first day that they come to school. The Silent Dismissal card that MUST be displayed and visible for dismissal on the driver’s side (left side of the car).

The school will use the car line dismissal program to manage dismissal procedures and to ensure social distancing is being followed.

Staff will use a dismissal program and call your child with the assigned number found on your car decal. If you do not have the decal you may be asked to leave the car line and wait until dismissal is over. Parents who do not have a card must loop around until dismissal is completed and provide identification so that we can issue a new card.

Kindergarten and 1st grade will begin dismissal at 2:00 PM 2nd-5th grade will begin dismissal at 3:00 PM 6th-8th grade will begin dismissal at 3:30 PM

Bus● Bus drivers must be notified, by parent/guardian, that students will not be

allowed off the bus if the they are not wearing a mask. Furthermore, all students allowed off the bus will have their temperature taken before entering the school building.

● If your child comes to school in a private bus you must complete the form to notify the school (link will be sent at a future date). No student will be put on a bus for dismissal without the form being completed.

Middle School Dismissal● Middle school parents may complete permission form which will be

emailed if they allow students to walk off campus.● Form will be emailed tomorrow.
