FLIPPED CLASSROOM
We are flipping the classroom this year for both Math IB SL and Calculus 1.
What is flipping?
GRADES: Tests, Quizzes, WSQs, and Portfolios
Quizzes - We will try to have a quiz every two weeks. They may be of the following form:• Short answer or Explanation• Quickie Quiz• Video/Educreations quiz
Tests - Periodically we will have tests, 2 or 3 a trimester. If you score below an 80%, you
may take a retest (within 2 weeks) to improve your grade. The highest grade you can receive on a retest is an 80. There are NO retakes on quizzes.
WSQ (watch-summary-question)
Portfolio/Project - We will have a portfolio/project each trimester. They involve in depth writing and solutions to a particular problem. These assignments will give you the opportunity to explore mathematical topics and to clearly communicate your findings. They must be typed with complete sentences. All math/equations must be in a correct format. The written work that you submit must be entirely your own.
