other ways• Stand up if you had to drive over 2 hours to get to this
conference• Stand up if you went or are going out of state on vacation this
summer• Stand up if you needed caffeine to get going this morning
Today’s Objectives
1. Explore a variety of stations that will develop student’s mathematical skills
2. Discover how to build a strong foundation of math knowledge with practical, manageable stations
3. Collect ideas for integrating numeracy into developmentally appropriate math stations
4. Explore and participate in hands-on-activities that build your kindergarteners’ understanding and ownership of number sense
Setting Up Your Stations
Getting Started • What?– 6 math stations (5 CCSS Domains +
Number writing)• When?– 3 times a week for 30 minutes– 2 15 minute rotations – Change out station every month
• Monday– 30 mins Math Stations– 30 mins Whole Group

Number Writing
Number Writing • At this station, students are working on number writing• We begin the year with 0-5 and gradually work our way
up to 100• In May, we play a writing to 100 game– There are two dice and one pencil– Each student has a 100 grid paper– When a student rolls doubles they get the pencil and
start writing to 100– The other students continue to roll the dice until
someone else rolls doubles. Then they get the pencil
