Math is very important. We use math each day. We use math with our friends.
There are 9 cookies and 3 friends. The friends want to share the cookies equally. How many cookies will each friend get?
You must divide up or share the cookies equally. Give each person 3 cookies.
You had 9 cookies and you shared them equally with 3 people. Each person got 3 cookies.
9 ÷ 3 = 3
Four friends went to the beach to collect sea shells.
Eric found 8 shells.
Jill found 6 shells and Sam found 5 shells.
Ann found 4 shells.
How many shells did they find all together?
6 + 5 + 4 + 8 =
6 + 5 + 4 + 8 =
They found 23 shells all together.
