WHAT IS MATRICULATION?• Matriculation is a process that enhances

student access to the California Community Colleges and promotes and sustains the efforts of credit students to be successful in their educational endeavors. The goals of matriculation are to ensure that all students complete their college courses, persist to the next academic term, and achieve their educational objectives.

• It is not an event, IT IS A PROCESS THAT INVOLVES THE ENTIRE COLLEGE.

WHY DO THE COLLEGES NEED TO PROVIDE MATRICULATION?

• To ensure that equal educational opportunity for all students

• To provide supportive educational services

• To provide the means for students to set realistic goals and fully understand the pathways to their success and to ensure that students are not excluded from appropriate services
