Mauritius is a recognised centre for international arbitration. It is particularly well-known for the arbitration of disputes in the African region. Its International Arbitration Act was enacted in 2008. Businesses are encouraged to choose Mauritian law as the applicable law and Mauritius as an arbitration venue in view of the country’s strategic location, international political neutrality, modern legislative framework and political stability.
