Scripting
• Maximo 7.5 exploits scripting API that is part of JDK 6 • JSR 223 – standardized scripting API for Java
• Supports two script engines out of the box • Rhino JavaScript (embedded with JDK 6, compliant with JSR 223) • Jython 2.5.2 (newer version compliant with JSR 223)
• Other JSR-223 compliant script engines can be seamlessly plugged in • Provides programming flexibility to clients and practitioners • Example: Jacl, JRuby, Groovy, Jawk • Place JARs in application server classpath and re-start server
• Scripting can be enabled for many different configurations • No longer limited to just actions • Script creation and management remains the same

Summary of Licensing Changes – Applicable to 7.5 and on .. 1. New Express User allows for running and viewing reports, read-only
access, status changes, and updates to Work orders assigned to that user. 2. Self Service Requestors, Desktop Requisitions, and Health, Safety
Environment Self Service Users entitlement included with core license for unlimited users.
3. Extend Limited Use Licenses to Maximo Industry Solutions (Oil & Gas, Utilities, Transportation, Nuclear, Government, Life Sciences)

Need lightweight/occasional access – more than SR, less than Limited/Secondary
• Express Use User License – covers scenarios for both ‘Executive’ and ‘Field Technician’ type users. • Introduce a 25:1 Authorized to Express ratio to lessen erosion of Authorized revenue.

• Intended for: • Managers/Supervisors for viewing information and
making approvals. • Technicians/Field workers who are performing
maintenance and need to look at WO tasks, update failure codes, post actuals and change status. Frequently use mobile access.
• If the Program is designated as "Express Use User", Licensee is entitled to access the Maximo Asset Management program solely for the purpose of running and viewing reports, read only view of records, approval of records and updates to Work Orders that have been assigned to the Licensee. 24
Self-Service Requestor & Desktop Requisitioner
Impact on Customers: - Current customers no longer need to purchase SSR and DR as functionality is included in the
Maximo Asset Management entitlement - S&S payments will not be reduced as the customer is still receiving the same functionality
Problem Recommendation
Any user should have the ability to report a problem or make a request at their site. Examples include students on a campus, or any employee aware of a safety issue.

Limited Use Part Numbers for Industry Solutions
• Existing customers can purchase limited use Industry Solution entitlements for their user-base going forward
Problem Recommendation
Industry Solution users are expanding outside of Maintenance activities and focusing on other processes like Operations, Engineering, Safety, Turnarounds and Commissioning which only requires a sub-set of the available functionality.
• Add Limited use Authorized User license for Industry Solutions • Limited Use part numbers will be priced at 50% of Authorized Use price point (consistent with existing Limited Use pricing for Maximo Asset Management)

Problem Recommendation
Limited Use currently entitles customers to 3 modules out of a list of 8 (from ~20 total) resulting in changes to terms and conditions for exceptions.
• Modify licensing terms for Limited Use Licenses to allow customers to select any 3 modules (no longer limited to choose from a list of 8 modules) • Restrict by excluding Administrative Applications • Retain 3:1 Ratio requirement of one full authorized use entitlement for every three limited use users
Added to all industry solution:
If the Program is designated as "Limited Use User", Licensee cannot use more than three (3) modules within the IBM Maximo Asset Management program, excluding the Administration, Integration, Security, and System Configuration modules, per Licensee’s Enterprise.

License Changes Summary
• If the Program is designated as "Express Use User", Licensee is entitled to access the Maximo Asset Management program solely for the purpose of running and viewing reports, read only view of records, approval of records and updates to Work Orders that have been assigned to the Licensee.
• If the Program is designated as "Limited Use User", Licensee cannot use more than three (3) modules within the IBM Maximo Asset Management program, excluding the Administration, Integration, Security, and System Configuration modules, per Licensee’s Enterprise.
• Individuals that are using the Program solely for the following purposes or are using only the following functions of the Program do not require entitlements to the Program: Entering service requests and viewing the status of their service requests. Viewing information on assets they own. Creating and viewing requisitions, viewing templates and viewing drafts via the Desktop Requisitions application.
