LIFELINES

Made in the image of the Triune God, the human person is, by nature, a social being, made for loving relationship in a communion of persons. Tragically, we live in a society where some seek to condition people–girls and women especially–to denigrate motherhood and [the] spousal relationship, going so far as to insist with the HHS mandate that that which is unique to woman–the ability to conceive and bear a child–should be viewed as something like an unwelcome disease which needs to be suppressed. Far from being an advancement in freedom for women, such attitudes diminish women and detract from their fundamental, inherent dignity. ~ Most Rev. If the weather is inclement, Mass will be held in St. Francis Xavier Church at 11:00AM. All parishioners and friends are welcome and encouraged to attend. A special item of interest this year will be the rededication of the bell from St. John’s Church. The bell was dug up from the church basement where it was buried after the church burned on February 23, 1947. The bell has been beautifully refinished and now has a place of honor near the Altar in the Cemetery. If you know of any former residents of our area who would like to see the rededication, please let them know the date and time.
