St. Patrick's Day Survey Results 2020
We'd like to thank all that participated in the
online survey in helping us to determine the fate of this
year's festivities. The general consensus was that we wait
until 2021 to celebrate & we feel that this is the best
course of action. For those that had paid their entries fee
(s), your payment will be applied to next year's parade. If
you would like a refund please contact Parade Coordina-
tor, Meghan Gibson ([email protected]). We thank
you for your patience & understanding & look forward
to a long, overdue celebration in 2021.
We will hold our 92nd Annual DCCW Convention the
weekend of July 24-26. We understand that the 24th is a
state holiday, but with all the cancellations and rebook-
ings going on in the area, we were glad to get a conven-
ient date before the NCCW convention is held. I hope
this does not create a problem for any of you, but as I
said, we had little choice. And although this is not an
ideal situation it is totally out of our control as is the
spread of this virus and the national emergency in which
we find ourselves. So we are asking you to be as excited
– even more so! – for our summer convention as you
were for our spring get-together.
Diocesan Office of Safe Environment ● Message from
the USCCB Charter for the Protection of Children and
Young People The Diocesan Office of Safe Environment
would like to share with you some words of comfort
from the USCCB Charter for the Protection of Children
and Young People: We pray you are staying safe and
healthy as the COVID-19 situation changes daily within
our country. During times like this we may be tempted to
give in to fear, anxiety, stress, or worry. But that is not
what we as Catholics are called to do. Instead of giving
into fears, we are called to focus on hope. Jesus gives us
hope, comfort, joy and peace, all of which may seem like
they are lacking, but in actuality they remain in abun-
dance. All we have to do is focus on the teachings of
Jesus Christ and remain grounded in prayer. Even when
everything else is out of our control, we always have
control over our relationship with Jesus and with His
Mother. The Office of Safe Environment is with you in
prayer.

Jesus said to his disciples: "If you love me you
will keep my commandments. I shall ask the Fa-
ther, and He will give you another Advocate to be
with you forever, that Spirit of truth whom the
world can never receive since it neither sees nor
knows Him, but you know Him, because He is
with you, He is in you. I will not leave you or-
phans; I will come back to you."
