nature: Bears oF the Last Frontier

Sun 8th, 15th and 22nd at 8 p.m.thirteen.org/ nature

adventurer and Bear BioLogist

Chris Morgan (pictured) has spent nearly

half his life studying bears around the

world. he can think like a bear, decode

their body language, and anticipate their

next move. Join him as he embarks on

a 3,000-mile journey deep into Alaska’s

bear country in the new three-part Nature

series, Bears of the Last Frontier, premier-

ing this month on ThIrTeen.

Traveling with a small film crew, Morgan

immerses himself in the world of brown

bears, black bears, and polar bears to give

us an intimate portrait of their person-

alities, social structure, and survival skills.

“What makes this series so fascinating—

and unlike any other film we’ve done on

bears—is Chris’s presence,” said Fred

Kaufman, Series executive Producer.

“he shares Nature’s respect for the

natural world, and his deep personal

connection with bears and profound

understanding of their behavior allow

him to interact with them in a way that

is revealing and awe-inspiring. In the first

episode, a mother bear approaches him

with her cubs—astounding behavior for

an animal known to be so protective of

its young.”

Morgan and producer Joe Pontecorvo

will be available for a live web chat after

the premiere of the first episode of Bears

of the Last Frontier on May 8th and will

respond to text questions posted to the

Nature website at thirteen.org/nature for

the second and third episodes.
