The Western New York Chapter of the American Concrete Institute has postponed the 2012 awards banquet to Friday, June 28th, 2013.
The busy spring season has contributed to a lower than average number of project submissions as well as a schedule of dead-lines that has forced us to postpone the 2012 Awards Banquet until Friday, June 28, at Terry Hills Golf Course, 5122 Clinton Street Road, Route 33, Batavia, NY 14020.
The ACI-WNY Awards banquet presents awards for projects and persons that have impacted our industry through 2012.
Dinner will be buffet style, and also in-cluded is open bar before dinner and open bar after the awards! Open bar includes drinks, beer, and wine!

The American Concrete Institute has long been regarded as an international technical expert in concrete. Membership in the Western New York Chapter of the American Concrete Institute can provide an edge to you and your business in terms of contacts, networking, marketing, and resources. Membership also provides access to the industries’ newest information, latest methods and techniques, experts in the field, and education through presentations and Certification Testing. WNY-ACI offers the following options for membership:
Corporate Sponsor Membership - $180 Includes 4 memberships to WNY-ACI and business card advertisement in our newsletter.
Advertiser Membership - $80
Includes one membership to WNY-ACI and a business card advertisement in our newsletter.
Regular Membership - $35
Includes one membership.
Sponsor-A-Student - $25 Pays for one student membership
***If you wish to sponsor a local student, please add the $25 to your membership dues. The nice Spring weather, resulting in a busy start to the construction season, has led ACI-WNY to postpone our 2012 Awards Banquet. The banquet will now be held on Friday, June 28th, at Terry Hills Golf Course in Batavia. This postponement allows all our members added time to submit a local concrete or masonry project from 2012, for an opportunity for award consideration. The Awards Banquet needs the input and effort of ACI-WNY members in order to continue to be a success.
Please see the Awards Banquet announcement on the cover, and the Project Award Entry Form at the end of this newsletter.
Construction of our new ACI-WNY Chapter website is continuing, and making excellent progress. Please take a moment to view our website at www.ACIWNY.com.
ACI-WNY would like to mention the upcoming APWA Beaver Island Break-Out is scheduled for May 23rd. Please see the Announcements section of the newsletter, or contact Dave Britton at [email protected] for more information.
The next ACI Certification Testing will occur on June 8th and June 22nd. Further information and details can be found on page 4 of this newsletter.

WNY-ACI Certification testing is organized by Ernie Kihl, assisted by Jeff Wilson. Professional engineer oversight is provided by Don Borkowski, P.E. Certification Testing is currently performed at CME Associates Buffalo Office, located at 402 Vulcan Street in Buffalo, NY.

AWARDS BANQUET PROJECT SUBMITTALS
Postponement of the 2012 Awards Banquet will allow ACI-WNY to extend the submission deadline until Mon-day June 3 2013. If you have any projects you wish to submit, please contact us. Submissions for this year’s Awards Banquet have been very limited thus far. The Board wishes to stress the importance of member input for the Awards Banquet. For information regarding project submittals procedures please contact any WNY-ACI Board Member.
