Good news abounds! Some Recent Headlines Say it All: “Home Prices Start to Heat Up” Wall Street Journal (May 11, 2015)“U.S. Unemployment Rate Drops to Near Seven-Year Low” By Reuters. (May 8, 2015)“Existing-Home Sales Spike in March” by Realtor.org. (April 22, 2015)

Daily, we work to analyze the current real estate market, and we are pleased with a number of positive indicators nationwide:

• Existing home sales are up, with strong growth reported each month.• First time home buyers have re-entered the marketplace.• Price appreciation is increasing to normal and sustainable levels.• Buyer and sellers are more confident.• Interest rates are still low.• Distressed properties coming on the market have decreased substantially.• The job market has continued to strengthen, with unemployment down to 5.4%

We always says that real estate is local, and while it’s good to know what is happening nationwide, it’s like the weather – we need to drill down to our local forecast.

Here in New Hampshire:• The first quarter 2015 closed sales in both Grafton and Coos counties increased

from 2014.• Pending sales increased 8.6% in Grafton County and by 26.6% in Coos County (1st

quarter 2015 vs. 1st quarter 2014).• The March 2015 unemployment rate in New Hampshire was reported at 3.9%, one

of the lowest rates in the nation.• At our firm, website traffic and foot traffic continue to rise, and our pending sales

are up to our highest levels ever.
