Dear Panther Families:
It is hard to believe that we have already reached the end of the school year. Our Panther Family has accomplished a great deal. This year we began our first year of an our very own Innovative Science, Technology, Arts, Mathematics, Preparatory Program with much success. Our students in all grades entered in various competitions throughout the school year throughout our County and State and achieved high honors. Students participated in many enjoyable field trips this year that helped provide real world connections. At Village Elementary School we prepare the whole child therefore we know that making connections to the real world and providing students with hands on activities was a vital part of the learning experience. Our Panther Family truly had a magnificent year of new experiences and a tremendous amount of learning.

Mini Relay for Life On May 17, 2013, our Panther Family hosted our very own Mini Relay for Life to benefit the American Cancer Society of Sunrise. Our students raised about $1500.00 for this relay event. Prior to this event teachers discussed with students why this relay event is important. Students got an opportunity to participate in a fun filled event while bringing awareness to all students, parents and the community. All funds were donated to the American Cancer Society. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible.

Students must wear uniforms on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, but on Fridays, students can wear their Village Panther T-‐Shirts or their favorite outfit, as long as the District Dress Code is being followed (all shirts must have sleeves and no skin can be exposed; no “short-‐shorts”). Also they can dress according to the designated school spirit day. For example, one Friday was “Pink Day,” everyone wore pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Students are required to wear their red uniform shirts or red Panther Shirts for field trips. At all times, students must wear closed-‐toed shoes with rubber bottoms and covered heals—no sandals or flip-‐flops. Remember our school uniform colors are red, white, black and khaki. Only these colors will be considered in accordance with the uniform policy.
Students in the S.T.A.M.P. Program will follow their uniform schedule. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Roberts at 754-‐322-‐8750.
