Are you looking to get fitter or take up something new? If so, maybe you should give Ju Jutsu (also known as Jujitsu) a try. Ju Jutsu, which is a Japanese practical self-protection system, can provide you with care, fitness and self-discipline, as well as much-needed protection. The ‘original mixed martial art’ is suitable for all ages and abilities and there are classes being run every Saturday at Droitwich Leisure Centre, which are tailor-made for first-timers. Sessions for those aged 5 and 3/4 to nine-years-old run from 10am to 11am. Youngsters aged ten and above can go along between 11am and 12midday. Also on Saturday, classes for adult beginners take place between 2pm and 3pm. Long-serving experienced coach Jonathan Sharpe said: "Jutsu is simply the only well rounded self-protection system there is, teaching participants striking, throwing, joint-locking, restraint and ground skills for self protection and various sporting formats." He said he would like to thank all students and parents, past and present, for their amazing support, Association head Ross Iannoccaro, Droitwich Leisure Centre, Director Tim Kirkham, Rob and Sandra, managers, Mr Paul Butterworth , Mr Ian Perks and Mr Matthew Godfrey for their help and advise where relevant. Jonathan also said he was looking forward to welcoming new members to the Ju Jutsu classes. And, with the first session being offered for free, there is no excuse not to give Ju Jutsu a go! So why not go down to Droitwich Leisure Centre on a Saturday or call Jonathan on 07767 306998 to find out more? Maybe it’s time to give Ju Jutsu a go!
