Metal Slides in some playgrounds can be dangerously hot Lack of shade in smaller, older play areas behind houses

Why do the Commissary hours say open at 11:00? When dothey actually open? Can the sign reflect the actual times?

Rumor: Pet move out policy for residents has changed, thusrequiring additional fees to be collected from tenants.

Changes in policy should include a grandfather clause for

    current tenants

Find out if there is any way to fund shade structures

without waiting for the 50 yr. home phasing cycle. Ifnot, we will remind residents that two nice, new parks

    are within walking distance away.

RE: Unacceptable Military Police response to stray dog call

    Recommendation: Recommendation:

Residents want to knowspecificallyhow energy cost iscalculated. It doesn't seem reasonable right now. The

calculations should at a minimum take into account thefollowing:

Family size (if so, how often does this get refigured?Obviously the family size in the unit would change witheach new resident due to PCSs, so how do they account forthis change?) 1 vs. 2 story (there is a significant temperature increase insummer upstairs where people have to sleep in 2-storyhomes) Year that home was built Quality, size and efficiency of major in-home appliances Quality and amount of insulation in wall and in attic Type and quality of Windows. Bitter Springs have metalwindow casings which are old by industry standards andconduct heat, thus very inefficient

At 11:40 on Sat., 18JUN11, I was confronted with a large, stray dog

while walking my child at the corner of Alvord and Normandy. I calledthe MP Dispatch line to ask for help. The MP sent a patrol car out, butdid not secure the dog. When I called the Desk Sergeant phone numberto inquire why the dog was still loose, I was told that the MP could nottake the dog because the Vet clinic was full. I said that this wasunacceptable, because it would be unsafe and a huge liability to knowabout a loose dog, and do nothing at all to secure it away from the parkand neighborhood communities.

The Desk Sergeant said that there was nothing at all they could do. Isuggested that even tying it to the MP station would be safer for children

than having the dog loose, but they said they could do nothing. No oneeven checked to see if the dog had an identifier chip.

have no control over the inefficient homes they arerequired to live in. People ought not have to pay for andrun their air at 68 deg, just to achieve 80 deg. upstairs,

for example. Best solution would be to upgrade homeswith vinyl windows, additional insulation, and energy eff.

    appliances.

This problem needs an immediate temporary solutionbetween Garrison, the MP, and the Vet Clinic until a

    permanent solution is found.

School zone and speed limits on Barstow Rd. b/t Normandyand Salerno is unclear to drivers traveling East fromNormandy and all roads east of Normandy. This is due to aflashing light located before Normandy that no one in theneighborhood passes. Also, one sign says "when childrenpresent" and no one knows exactly what that means

Sandy Basin/Rhineland Rd. Playground is dark at night.Families would like to utilize the parks in the summer atnight more frequently due to cooler temperatures. Also, teens are sometimes on the upper equipment using thedarkness as cover for their relationships. :-).

Suggest posting special zone signs so they are visiblefrom Normandy eastward AND recommend the sign just

say what the hours/days of 15 mph are so that driversknow.

A neighbor has suggested installing lights at theplayground or sensor-activated lights that will stay on aslong as activity is going on there.

Crosswalks at parks are not safe due to cars being able topark right up to edge of crosswalk. Then cars passing byhave no reaction time for a child hidden by the car, steppingout into the crosswalk.

Paint 10-15ft. of red paint on curbing adjacent to all legalcrosswalks. Some neighbors have even volunteered topaint if given the go ahead.
